I will never understand why this album/song didn’t take off :jonny:

bonus:

and don’t name songs from platinum albums or MPGs ffs :rip:

This is a perfect pop album, and had it been released by a popstar in the peak of her career, everyone would recognize it as such.

Bittersweet alone would sweep year-end lists.

How did that Sophie album get a 53 on MC when it would be an 88 if someone like Dua released it :deadbanana2:

Critics were ruthless to female pop artists during that time

The British press really had it out for her since the beginning, it's crazy. Rancid ass country. :rip:

Since Sophie is discussed, this masterpiece should also be mentioned:

Anything from Nao’s For All We Know. One of the most sonically interesting, vocally compelling, and lyrically poetic albums I’ve ever listened to.

Adore You, In The Morning, Trophy, Bad Blood, DYWM, Don’t Give A, Give Me A Little, Fool To Love :clap3: I haven’t experienced an album run like that in a long time. I used to say Take Me Apart by Kelela was the best RnB album I’ve ever heard, but the range and diversity in emotion and world building in FAWK is unmatched. Such an immaculate album in every aspect

I honestly believe Janet’s work was not appreciated enough and it was a bit

Truly! Off & On is a perfect pop song.
