It is time to choose. Please leave two local albums out of these. Let's focus on the main 9. I understand how some of you may be influenced by this but Piez Descalzos, Fijacion Oral and Sale el Sol are untouchable to me.

Pies Descalzos: One of the best spanish pop records all the time. Very stripped and simple cause the budget was small. Poetic lyrics. The best start. Enough to make her a phenomenon.
Donde Estan Los Ladrones : The best spanish pop record ever. The beauty of the lyrics-music-emotion-execution-topics-nostalgia......Everything went well and i wonder if there's unreleased songs from this record. HER PEAK

Laundry Service : With a more polished production and better english it would have been better but a great very authentic album for the time. Impressive for a latino artist newbie to the angloworld and the english language.
Fijacion Oral Vol 1: Probably her second best album. Very poetic like her old records. The music is beautiful. The concept flows well. Feels Expensive.
Oral Fixation Vol 2: Her edgiest and darkest project in English. A little bit strange but lovely. Feels more like a 2004-2003 album. Great to show her artistry. Commercially wise not a good decision cause Urban was dominating at the time.

She Wolf : Her most Experimental project. World music-Electro and big intentions of havin Hits. Deserved a richer production cause some songs feel like Demos, i blame pharell. Tracklist too short.
Sale El Sol : Some great songs some really bad ones. This is when her music went Mid. Here Shakira was trying to get "fast" hits instead of working in a detailed way like her past records.

Shakira : Very diverse and some beautiful songwriting and good vocals but also feels kinda weak and too overly romantic-corny. It was also Shakira relegating her music to different songwriters-producers for the first time. A mixture of two projects. The scrapped dance album from 2012 and Shakira's motherhood album.  Shakira trying to ride the indie alt wave from 2012-2013 and the electro one but coming with dated songs like Dare.
El Dorado : Shakira gettin lazy with gerard and havin droplets and random collabs and makin a playlist out of it with some new songs lol

Objectively
1.Dell/MTV Unplugged
2.Fijacion Oral Vol 1
3.Pies Descalzos/Laundry/Oral Fixation Vol 2
4.She Wolf
5.Sale El Sol/Shakira
6.El Dorado

Personally
1.Oral Fixation Vol 2. Her hardest Pop rock songs like How Do You Do. The Orchestal vibe of the ballads. The british feeling. My fave.
2.She Wolf. She was serving bad *****,glamour and pop barbie and i was in love with it
3.Shakira (2014). Feels very Taylor swift-Avril Lavigne at times. Love the variety of genres and the big number of songs :gaycat4:
4.Laundry Service. Shaki serving Glam Rock Goddess. 70S-80S. The latin hits here are powerful. The Live version of these songs are better.
5.Pies Descalzos/Donde Estan Los Ladrones : Packed with nostalgic Classics
6.Sale El Sol. The Rock-Ballad songs are solid but the merengues are very cheap specially Gordita (Cancion mas vulgar). Mini Compilation of her career. Songs too short.
7.El Dorado. Some songs here are so much fun and warm but feels like a very vapid album. Lacks substance.

Wow, you summed it up perfectly in this post :clap3:I would add FO Vol.1 on the same tier as DELL as it showcased her musical progression in a very beautiful and organic way. Simple, clean and full of character, a true gem of an album along with its English sister.

She was trying to give her English speaking fans a glimpse into her true essence other than the exotic long haired hipshaking Latina they first met in 2001 but unfortunately she was forced to record a dance anthem to satisfy the public and HDL looks very out of place in that tracklist. Some of her best English work is there and i will always point it out when people criticize her English catalogue.  Even the much hated Self titled has some solid songs and the production is good; she puts in the work when it comes to English music. She's gotten lazy with her spanish music because of the easy hits she gets and they lack creativity and a clear vision as seen on El Dorado so we're reduced to getting albums comprised of hit singles with popular Latin artists.
