Because it's actually a great album outside of its singles

and there we have it

I’d give it a chance if she changed the horrendous album cover and replace MEEP! with All Of The Girls.

Me! barely out doing Daylight 💀

Because you have:

- the fan favorites (Cruel Summer, Afterglow, Cornelia Street, False God)

- the GP favorites (Lover, Paper Rings)

- the singles that are getting attention from the tour (The Man, You Need To Calm Down)

- the random songs that are getting attention from the tour (The Archer, Miss Americana)

- the album itself is still getting attention from Taylor years later (the vinyl for Valentine's Day for eg.)

A shame that the singles during that era were tragic, because I agree that with some trimming Lover could have been a great pop album with a great era. Tbh, even with the original Lover, Cruel Summer as a lead single would completely shift the discussion.

1. Cruel Summer (single #1)

2. Lover (single #2)

3. The Archer

4. Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince

5. Paper Rings (single #3)

6. Cornelia Street

7. Death By A Thousand Cuts

8. London Boy

9. False God

10. Afterglow
11. Daylight

12. All Of The Girls You Loved Before (single #4)

13. Need

If it was cut to the 13 best tracks including AOTGYLB then it would be one of her best. But unfortunately it has songs like ME!, YNTCD, etc. that are stains on her discography. The way those were the lead singles too smh

Better album wins

delete ME!ss, YNTCD and INTHAF then it's a good album

Bevcause ATRL doesn't represent reality or the broader Swiftie fanbase in any way.
