It never felt like she was going to be the next big rapper, she felt like a meme/novelty/joke artist

these days pretty much all mainstream rappers start off as meme/novelty/joke artists. cardi, doja, lil nas, ice spice, etc.  lmao

I like Cupcakke but Suki ended/rihplaced ha & is the more marketable version

she's an underground superstar and she likes it that way. She turned down all the major deals she was offered

she chose to retain her soul and remain indie. :clap3: she's still killing it with her cult following

i honestly thought she would blow up with all the Tiktok hype

Well tbh, did she ever try to become the next big thing?

I think she was under a lot of pressure. Her lyrics were proof that she had to deal with some serious problems that were affecting her. Stepping away from music for the time being is probably the best decision she could have made. I hope she pulls through okay.

I wonder if she changed her sound, would her TikTok fans be disappointed?

I don't think she's even making music anymore tbh. It's been almost a year since her last single release

She's done a few remixes in the last year or so, but I think she had some mental health issues a few years back so she's probably working on herself.

feeling like her diet takes her more time than usual and she probably wait for right moment to comeback new visual new body new image after half-baked promo song H2O. so much talents other than keep rapping on same topics and she knows she can crossover her boundaries. :pancake:

To this day people pay more attention to her forced hypersexual earlier work rather than her two truly excellent LPs.

She refused to sign to a big record label during her prime. Had she just signed a deal in 2019 / 2020, she would've been able to do some cross overs and re-brand. Especially since she is still very young. Shes only in her mid 20's.

I actually think what she did was very smart. She refused to play the music industry game and rejected all label deals, kept her $$$, and maintains the following that she built on her own. Not everyone has to be topping charts to be doing good.

Her music was too vulgar and the lyrics not pg friendly. She reminds me of Tokischa lyrically extremely explicit.

Her output slowed down a lot after 2019 since she had a lot of personal issues (gambling addiction, depression) and almost quit music because she thought she was a negative influence.

She was only 18 when she started going viral, and self released 3 albums and 2 EPs by the time she was 22. Also toured, did features, etc. Her slowing down was probably what was best for her given all that she was dealing with at the time

Those people are marketable. CupCakke never was with how vulgar her music is.
