a thread for stats that'll never be important anywhere else, ever.

I'll start

No solo female artist has ever spent more weeks at #1 on the hot 100 in a single year than Monica did in 1998 with 18 weeks. Beyonce came the closest in 2003 when she did 17 weeks

What else?

Edited by Bey_Rihstan

Stevie Wonder is the youngest artist to go #1 on Hot 100 at 13 years old

Shanice had the record for biggest jump on the Hot 100, before Kelly Clarkson took it years later

These girls have the same amount of top 10s in the US with 4:

Camila Cabello

Alessia Cara

Dua Lipa

Bebe Rexha

Olivia Rodrigo (with jist one album released)

Lizzo

Demi Lovato

Meghan Trainor (may get a fifth one soon)

K bye for now, Sunshine. <3

In UK, it’s calculated that 2 of 5 houses has at least one Dido record on their shelves

Nictone Heroine Morphine song

Senorita

The 5th one would be from 5H, but I don't think that's included.

No white person went #1 in 2004

No Black person went #1 in 2013 (as lead)

I thought Mariah surely had that record, but I guess you're right.

1990 - 7 weeks

1991 - 7 weeks

1992 - 2 weeks

1993 - 9 weeks

1994 - 3 weeks

1995 - 13 weeks

1996 - 13 weeks

1997 - 3 weeks

1998 - 1 week

1999 - 2 weeks *becomes music act with most weeks at #1 ever*

2000 - 1 week

2005 - 15 weeks

2006 - 1 week

2008 - 2 weeks

2019 - 2 weeks *beats Elvis' fake inflated weeks at #1 record*

2020 - 2 weeks

2021 - 2 weeks

2022 - 5 weeks *becomes the human with most #1s (Paul McCartney had 89 combining three different acts)*

2023 - 1 week

= 91 weeks

*The next act is Rihanna with 60 (or Elvis with 79 if you count his "pre-Hot 100" #1s).

Obsessed is Mariah's only song to chart in the 6-10 range, weirdly enough.

1. 19 songs

2. Can't Let Go, Loverboy, Endless Love, Shake It Off

3. Without You, I Know What You Want

4. I Still Believe

5. Make It Happen

6. N/A

7. Obsessed

8. N/A

9. N/A

10. N/A

Missy Elliott holds the record for most weeks at #2 without hitting #1 with "Work It" which was blocked for 10 weeks behind "Lose Yourself"

(Whitney's "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" would've been a 12 week #1 if it wasn't blocked by Mariah's 16 week #1 "One Sweet Day")

Havana and Cheap Thrills have the longest ascent to #1 for a female song with 23 weeks (other than Xmas songs)

Most simultaneous weeks occupying the #1 on Hot 100 and Billboard 200:
Whitney Houston (12) - I Will Always Love You & The Bodyguard

Adele (6) - Hello & 25

Janet (5) - That's the Way Love Goes & janet

You mean other than Mariah. No other Xmas song has gone #1 in over 60 years and it was a new release :gayriahcat1:

Why does pre-hot 100 = fake and why does Paul McCartney =\= human?

What week in its chart run did it reach the summit suburbannature?

That’s certainly unique reading comprehension.

She became the act with the most weeks at #1 in 1999, but she became the human with the most weeks with #1 in 2022. Paul had 89 combining Beatles, Wings, and his solo work.

Elvis* pre-hot 100 #1s are not typically recognized in records because they were just something Billboard calculated more recently based on pre-chart data. Either way, she passed those weeks in 2019 after having been “tied”

25 years after release, 19 years after originally charting, and after 35 weeks charting.
