I was just thinking cause the solo would fall right in the middle of touring, but I could see her doing a cute Inkigayo debut — at least once during that first weekend of release  before heading to Japan the week after

The reason SM is so afraid of HYBE is because they’re projecting let’s not forget they allegedly acquired Woolim to shut down Infinite when they were blowing up 

i'm honestly super excited for smngg and smnbg. it feels weird to debut smngg so quickly after aespa when aespa aren't as established as they could be but hopefully it means sm debuts girl groups more regularly then every 5-6 years and wasting several talented well known trainees (like the female smrookies that left sm after training for 5+ years...)

it's weird as hell tho that sm is putting out all these plans but mentioning nothing about when red velvet's comeback is

No, they were thinking of a permanently traveling SMTown concert tour concept where kpop fans would pay to go see a bunch of different acts, but felt like they needed more acts.  They got Woollim, but they also kicked the tires on Starship, DreamT -- heck, even got turned down by Chrome Ent.  There was actually a concert in Seoul featuring an SM act (I think Exo), Infinite, Sistar and Girl's Day as sort of a test run to see how things meshed.  In the end, pretty sure the only Woollim act that appeared at an official SMTown event were the Tasty Twins somewhere in China.  And SM soon abandoned the "Town" idea of concerts with many acts in favor of a "city" boy group comprised of many units.

Only in fans' minds, IVE are doing their things, NJ & LSRFM too. They all have STRONG eras. If IVE was struggling for a hit not selling album I'd say otherwise but this isn't happening. And from all the groups Starship has handled we know they love to accept cf and movie/drama roles around the time they release to optimize the publicity and talk about their albums in every interview.

Monsta X used a whole Pepsi ad announcement to talk about their world tour and album (the tour was already sold out at the time so it was literally talking about it to have the media play out of it how they were on a sold-out tour), Bona has roles coming up or is cast every time there is a WJSN news.

The big companies reluctance to debut girl groups while continuing the milk the steady revenue of boy groups is why kpop became a niche product even in Korea.

ive declined this time around tho, after like is already out of the top 10 after love dive's endless domination and even love dive ended up being overshadowed by hypeboy

and speaking of it girls, i went to the electronics stores and saw newjeans on all the computer screens, they're plastered on every mcdonalds because of their collab (), literally blasting in entire neighborhoods on the speakers, having a residency in the top 3 of the charts AND of the karaoke systems charts  members are getting cf left and right and going to fashion week, then we have the long time it girls like IU or jennie. IU is literally everywhere right now still
