Yeah I'm in Melbourne and there is a decent size K-Pop store, i just thought that 50-60$ was kinda expensive, but turns out that is kinda cheap

Digital downloads are declining (like everywhere else in the world). Back then, songs could easily jump up to top 10 if there was a strong push from the fanbase, or those ahjummas stanning Lim Young Woong  The chart now is pretty much 90% or 100% streaming which tends to be more stable than downloads. Also Melon has introduced those TTH playlists as well which helped. Streaming relies a lot on passive streaming so people would generally just play whatever is popular / on the Hits playlist

Yeah, and top 40 mainstream is probably where it's going to stay.  Although, it should show up on AC stations if things work out.  The thing is how fast it started getting airplay during peak listening hours just days after it was released to radio.  Usually songs like this live in the fringe for a little bit, but I guess someone is paying attention to the streaming numbers.
