I and other sheep don't have any actual loyalty to SM as a company. We primarily just like their sound, and secondly their tendency to make vocally talented groups. No one is forcing themselves to like anything, half the sheep are NCT haters ffs lol

I’m obviously talking about the aesthetic, I never said aespa sounded like BP or NJ. And now I have to disagree with you, SM did a huge switch up from RV, SNSD and f(x) to aespa and lot of Sheep refused to support aespa at first, I clearly remember everyone hating everything of their pre-debut era, and Black Mamba was not very well received by SM stans at first. Once Next Level smashed the Sheep switched up and started to stan thinking they were the next big thing, but since the Girls era they don’t know what to do, because the music is not it, they are being left behind by other GGs and their talent is not enough. It’s actually funny because SM stans were so cocky just a year ago saying that aespa was the new SNSD / BP (success wise)

aespa is better, bigger and prettier than snsd  

If you read this thread a bit you’ll see that aespa stans are mostly SM stans and most of them have icons from RV, SNSD or f(x). They success stanned aespa and now is backing fire because they don’t really like the music and the success is not as big as they thought it was going to be.

As a MY, I only ever stanned SNSD.  never cared that much for fx/Red Velvet and then started loving aespa with Black Mamba. Great members, exciting beautiful voices, and their sound with Next Level/Savage EP especially wasn't really done by a girlgroup before in such a cohesive release. Stanning them for as long as they're together.

i mean they definitely had an advantage for me personally coming from SM because much like the good sis Harrier said, they have a good track record for girl groups releasing stuff that lines up with my palate

When aespa's high notes started melting into the metallic sounds getting louder....as a fan of PC MUSIC/Sophie....this was the moment I knew which 4th gen group was what I liked.

None. It makes more sense for Blinks to stan aespa than Reveluvs, f(x) stans or sones. I mean aespa received HUGE support from Blinks on their pre-debut and the Black Mamba era (well not here, but on Twitter and YT) while SM stans were hating everything.

some of the users in here are right about the Sheeps, I mean, BP gets trashed for doing pots and pans music but somehow aespa is listenable when both are doing loud girl crush

EXACTLY! in terms of current SM groups, Red Velvet give me the quirky and r&b goodness while aespa hit a lot of my more experimental vibes that I love in non-kpop music
