Inspired by the recent thread where Taylor's actua musical and cultural impact came into question I was thinking about some of her peers and how they have already indeed made some long-lasting impact on a generation, namely Miley Cyrus.

 

She is pretty much one of the more well-known American princess types, and has been since childhood like Raven Symone or Drew Berrymore (google it kids, nepo babies are not new). 

 

Hannah Montana made her into a generational global icon and she like very few can, actually has had iconic music moments too.

 

So I ask ATRL?

What has Miley done that's culturally relevant outside of going through her Urban/Hip-Hop phase and then denouncing Rap

The younger gen loves Miley wyd? My high school age sister loves her, as does my older sister. I’m Gen Z and we all grew up listening to The Climb and Party in the USA. 

I don't think so. Miley has more classics and universally known hits tho.

Young millennials and older Gen Z grew up on Hannah Montana, Bangerz is the definitive “child star grows up and goes wild” era and Miley has classics that everyone knows. How does she not have impact? Taylor impacted some ways the industry extracts money from consumers, but Miley is extremely impactful and definitive from a cultural standpoint. 

Hanna Montana was a cultural phenomenon, Party in the USA is a crossed generational smash, her going through her slutty phrase was also a huge moment for pop culture.
Taylor has her fueds with Kanye, Kim, Scooter, Karlie, Katy Perry,  Justin B, Ariana, Demi, her own record company, her best friends, her child hood friends,  and all of her exes so idkkk they’re pretty even.
