It becomes obvious that Katy is not interested in pursuing a musical career and is considering selling her catalog for $80-100 million.

 

The question is: what can spark Katy Perry to make music again and be a pop star?

Well, she has released a pop album just recently right? And it had the exact same type of music she has always been releasing. 

Her sparkle for music is not the problem. People not caring about her is the problem.

She could get a divorce and write an anthem about it, that would get her some attention. However, she seems happily married for now. 
 

 

Other wise, she doesn’t seem interested in keeping up a public persona at this point. If she really wanted she could pull a Gaga and have a second wind but I don’t get the vibe she’s hungry for that. She’ll probably make a more Adult HC album next and do more hosting gigs. 2010s nostalgia is already a thing so she’ll be performing her back catalogue for decades

Smile was very uninspired and tired. She was asking to be panned with the clown theme! I think that after Witness flopped both commercially and critically, she gave up. She really believed in that project. She didn't understand that after a failure, all you can do is stand up and try again - like Justin Bieber after the Changes fiasco, for example, he started spamming singles and he eventually got Peaches.

We wish... for now she seems to want to die doing Teenage Dream rehashes. But Meghan Trainor is currently smashing with a solo song that sounds like a Title era reject, so it might work for her eventually

Changes wasn’t even a flop. Most mpgs could only dream of a lead single performing like yummy did

Its certifications resemble Chained to the Rhythm's a lot (peaks generally worse, though). They both did below expectations. Changes and Witness also have nearly identical certs.

Witness isnt even Platinum in the US after 5 years when it had bundles to inflate its pure sales

if?  she has released a bunch of projects, collabs, singles, promoted here there everywhere. It's not simply a matter of *IF*

I think if she loves music, she should focus on making music that she wants to make and not worry about public reception/popularity.

Black wig on, sexy looks on, christmas jingles, public appearances, on tv every week. You cannot say she's not been trying. She was heavily pregnant when she was promoting daises on multiple promo platforms for weeks

Did she work with Dr Luke? No. So nope it wasn't the exact same type of music she has always been releasing. She needs to work with him if she wants another guaranteed hit. 

 

Ya'll also said chromatica was gaga doing the fame type music but rain on me and stupid love sounds absolutely nothing like paparazzi or just dance. Until she makes that exact same type of music it will never be the same or as catchy

Nothing. She's 38 and a product of her time who isnt a good singer, dancer, performer or artist. Move on

Ah yes, those Zoom performances for Daisies that 20k people watched her promo hasn't been ideal! Playlisting for new releases (the only thing that matters in the streaming era) was only good for Never Really Over, her one Christmas jingle (the other one was never released) rots in the lower positions of few playlists (while Christmas Tree Farm, which is a song the artist has been trying HARD to make happen, is near the top everywhere), and the one time she was lucky enough to have a TikTok moment she completely ignored it. She's probably just clueless and thinks TV appearances still matter in the 2020s, I dunno!
