People need to realize that a Grammy award and nom doesn't stand for anything. It means nothing. If we're going to talk about prestigious awards, lets make it clear that the BET awards have the same views as The Grammy Awards.

The viewership for all these "prestigious" award shows have been tumbling  these events aren't important.

It is always pleasant to have your work getting praised so I understand why many artists care but at the same time, money and connections do everything in this business.

 

Whether it comes from the Grammys, the VMAs, BBMAs, etc... awards do not matter. What's really important is that the public enjoys what you do and support you. This is the best form of success and recognition.

This is just statistically not true in this dimension, but you're free to hold that opinion.  

Award shows in general are becoming increasingly irrelevant and younger audiences simply do not care about awards.  When a massive group of artists come together and vote to recognize the artists and music they think were the best that year, it actually should mean something to be recognized regardless of how many people watch at home.  

I mean irl no one gives af but for the artists/writers/producers it means a lot for obvious reasons

 

People who constantly scream "awards do not matter" and fume at them only participate in the strength of the award 

In my opinion, Grammys doesn’t define talent.

 

+ EBT Awards is as equally as corrupt as Scammys. 

They clearly matter to some.

Some girls resort to sympathy tactics and even bullying in hopes of forcing themselves onto the minds of Grammy voters.

 

Some girls do anything but release deserving music.

They used to matter but they just ruined it. Now their reputation is horrible and nobody really takes it seriously outside stan conversations.

especially when people who don't even write their own music get awards. and now they're handing out noms to viral videos and tiktokers 

Grammys are basically a popularity contest nowadays. 

+ They always give the awards to the same artists. The fact that people and publications have been hyping Adele and Beyonce to be the most nominated/winners this year EVEN BEFORE the albums were out just shows how predictable and boring these awards are.

I don’t think people, including you, understand what a GRAMMY is or what it represents.

 

The trophy is a physical representation of what people in the industry think about you. The voters are their peers. You can’t buy a GRAMMY, but you can influence your chance at winning or receiving a nomination based off of how you treat your peers and how you network.

 

I can guarantee you people in the industry do not like Nicki as a person, hence why she hasn’t received one.
