Also, I wish Tina Turner toured more - the original, solo, touring force. 

 

The grosses she garnered in Europe in the 1990’s and 2000’s were insane for an artist that debuted her first single in 1959.

The good sis did the best she could tbh. Touring post your 50s is very impressive nonetheless. Didn't she say she had health issues during her last tour?

Pink could've easily done a second date there if the venue had been available. She did an additional date in The Hague instead though.

Obviously the grosses were a lot lower back then, but I do want to point out that Tina Turner was the very first artist ever to perform in this stadium, selling 157,000 tickets across 3 sold-out shows on the Wildest Dreams tour. Those 3 stadium shows were in addition to 11 (!) arena shows in the Netherlands, which I don't think any other artist could pull of. Miss Tina has ALWAYS been huge in the Netherlands

Didn't Madonna play two sold out shows there in 1987? And another one in 1990? 

 

EDIT: nvm, she played this stadium in Rotterdam instead. Weird that she skipped Amsterdam these years

Amsterdam didn't really have a modern stadium suited for concerts until this one opened in 1996 (nor a proper indoor arena until 2012 ), Rotterdam used to be the go-to Dutch city for touring artists back then

Smh so many things to consider for touring artists in the 80's / 90's versus now. It was truly a different world
