What?

Beyonce fans is bitter because she have the same producers like Gaga?:skull:

Another thread from Gaga's number one stan! Also if you're counting remixes, then you should take Skrillex off that list since he did an official Bad Romance remix hihi

It was inspired by Britney and Madonna. Lady Gaga is a huge stan of them !

Babylon is a poor attempt at a Vogue moment so yes :coffee2:

Well Babylon is certainly inspired by Vogue and almost every youtuber that reviewed Chromatica said the same thing, In fact, everything she's done has been inspired by Madonna at some point, except she plays it down or thanks other women for inspiring her instead, like when she turned at the VMA's and thanked Whitney for BTW, despite resembling a dollar tree version of Blond Ambition Madge.

Not sure what this nonsense is about liddos claiming Madonna didn't have the balls to critique her to her face, but did Gaga approach Madonna before she talked s*** about her on that Zane Lowe interview in 2016? It's telling how those who surround(ed) Gaga (DJ Whiteshadow, Perry Meek, Tara Savelo, L.Gibson and Terry Richardson) have all said the most repugnant things about Madonna, yet the only thing M did was call BTW reductive and sing it on tour to show they both sounded alike. Gaga's just lucky this so called feud happened when Madonna became a tamer version of herself, otherwise M would've torn them all to shreds back in the 80's / early 90's and she wouldn't have given a damn.

Yes, and Gaga did it better by default since Rebel Heart is an unlistenable auto tuned mess

Trust me, no one is referencing Rebel Heart, besides maybe in a list about the worst albums of the past decade.

Of course certain people with no music knowledge outside of 3-4 popstars think Madonna was the first to make a song about voguing, when this was release 1 year before 'Vogue' with the same exactly sound and with poc people in the music video who were actually very important figures of the ball culture and scene (see 'Paris is Burning'), first song to actual bring 'voguing' to mainstream public attention as stated by several music publications.

Madonna was inspired by Chromatica when she recorded True Blue, she stated this in interviews many times :clap3:

Madonna ignited the disco and house revival of the last couple years with Madame X.

Not you pretending you have general music knowledge when you probably just saw this being posted on some forum and bookmarked it. :rip:

Babylon was a direct reference to Vogue whether you like it or not. The spoken melody + the keys couldn't be a more obvious tribute to Madonna's Vogue. You trying to pretend it's a Deep in Vogue reference sent me :bibliahh:

From Chromatica Reviews:

Quote

"Gaga ends instead with the Madonna-esque “Babylon"

   - Consequence of Sound

"the thumping “Chromatica” can remind you of Madonna’s 2005 “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” which she used as a comeback following its widely unliked predecessor, “American Life.” (Anyone doubting that Gaga still takes cues from Madonna need only cue up her new album’s closer, “Babylon,” which rips the classic “Vogue” even more explicitly than “Born This Way” did “Express Yourself.”)

    - LA Times

"Babylon sees her strutting off into the sunset with splashy catwalk piano, sax with attitude and a half-rapped vocal so reminiscent of Madonna’s Vogue"

    - The Guardian

“Babylon,” with its regrettable lyrics about spilling the tea with your friends, and the near-plagiaristic “Vogue” rap (seriously, just sing “Bette Davis, we love you” along with any of Gaga-donna’s lyrics and it syncs perfectly), deserves an Old Testament fate. It’s as if all the drama around “Born This Way” never happened. But those are just the shallows."

    - Rolling Stone

"Babylon,” though the track will only further enrage militant Madonna fans who accuse Gaga of being reductive, as it channels “Vogue” even more than “Born This Way” echoed “Express Yourself."

  - A.V Club

Secondly, no one ever claimed (nor herself) that she was the first to mention, reference, or make a song/video about Vogueing in history. But it's a mere fact that she brought it from underground culture to mainstream culture. You know, I'd expect you, as a Gaga fan, to know the difference, considering your fave herself has attempted for years to copy Madonna's stamp and bring underground culture to the mainstream. What do you think ARTPOP is about? :lakitu: Madonna bringing underground culture to the mainstream (which she did multiple times) is a pattern in her career because she had kickass sensibilities and a great understand of how to merge underground, or/and artistic elements with the mainstream zeitgeist and hence creating art+pop :hippo: Sometimes Gaga's stealing of Madonna's ideas were little bit too on the nose, like when she pretty much copied the exact same statement Madge made visually with Bedtime Story video and Applause (making abstract art pieces come to life, she even referenced the same paintings/works Madge did lol) but we're getting sidetracked here :lakitu:

Anyway Deep In Vogue didn't do that any of that, it remained underground. In fact, the song was later re-released in 1990 after Vogue thanks to its popularity.

Not even the OG's of 80's underground ball Voguing agree with you:

What's next, do you want to educate those OG pioneers as well about Voguing?

tumblr_m4fjk2pWyS1qejgz3o1_500.gif

Absolutely.

Gaga has been well-known for stealing from Madonna since her debut.

Edited by Pepo

She did it better than that old lady anyways, so good for her for getting the best from the producers

GIF applause standing ovation - animated GIF on GIFER

Thank you, Jjang.  You said it much more eloquently than I was going to. :bibliahh:

The way her base always attacks Madonna's age yet Madonna was stomping well into her late 40's. :rip:

This is why it's hard to appreciate both because of the inane comments "she did it better." LOL!

Gaga always brings out the worst out of producers (Bloodpop, Mark Ronson, Zedd), it seems
