The flag for gay men.Do you use it?

They're all ugly and embarrassing. The rainbow especially. Only corporations and allies think it's the tea.

 

A plain royal blue flag would have been a slay ?

I mean I get the idea behind it, but it's crazy how the most creative group of people on the planet came up with that abomination of a flag

I think it's rather fascinating that after over 40 years people are still looking for the original concept to build on. So I would say let them create, it's just art at the end of the day.

So tumblr users decided that a pink and purple flag should represent lesbians and then decided gays needed one too and it should be blue? Pink for girls and blue for boys? Gen Z is so regressive  but thankfully I’ve only seen insufferable Twitter users use this and the pink lesbian one

This is the new, more accepted and widely used version of a flag for gay men specifically, similar to the lesbian, bisexual, transgender flags, rather than something to be used by the whole community like the rainbow flag, created by user gayflagblog in 10th of July of 2019. The previous version was contested due to doubts of its intentions, the creators intentions, and the meaning of the colors. Ever since its creation, this one has been more common and accepted by everyone.

 

"The green (Community) and teal (Joy) in the flag represent Nature. I thought this was important because love between men is often seen as “unnatural” in the eyes of society and in religion. Furthermore, gay men have historically used green flowers and plants (Carnations, hyacinths, etc.) to symbolize our love, reinforcing our connection with Nature. The purple (Fortitude) and indigo (Diversity) in the flag represent diversity in presentation, relationships, & life experience. We’re so often stereotyped as all fitting into these neat little categories, especially by those who choose to fetishize us & by non-MLM, but in reality there are so so many different ways to be a man and so many ways to be a man who loves or who is in a relationship with other men, and this needs to be emphasized.

 

Purple is a mix of blue and red, and seeing as common criticism of other gay man flag proposals is “oh blue for boy? bleh”, I decided to have a light blue stripe leading into a deep purple to symbolize how some of us might be stereotypical, some of us might not be, and some of us are in-between or fluid. Regardless, we should all be celebrated and respected.

After reading that I like the flag more.

No. I'm fine with the rainbow flag, but I could also see why some might want something more specific. People who complain about the flags are more annoying than the people who use them.

No the only flag I use is the AMERICAN flag.

I only go for red flags, unfortunately.

I only use the Philly flag with the six rainbow colors + black and brown. The one with the trans triangle or whatever is so ugly and too much. Aren't they included in the rainbow flag anyway?
