Is the folkmore effect upon us?

Featured Replies

Gracie Abrams debuts “Block Me Out”, produced by the “We Were Happy” Dr. Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran has also confirmed co-writing with the best producer of folklore and evermore.

Is the folkmore effect upon us this decade?

Would you want your fave to be working with Aaron? Discuss.

I’m super happy for Aaron. I hope he gets more recognition. His friendship with Taylor is truly adorable. It makes wonders for both artists both artistic and personal.

The folkmore era is amazing but I still want Taylor to work on other producers/songwriters. She still has more to offer artistically.

literally never heard of him until Taylor and that's the case for most people

He has been incredibly well known for quite literally almost two decades in the indie music world. Just because pop stans just found out about him doesn't mean he's not been a well known figure in other music communities for a long, long time now. Someone clearly knows him because The National are currently sitting on 4 top 5 albums which is fairly rare in the indie rock/indie folk world.

I think the folklore effect was already present last year. Didn’t Hailey Williams say she considered her album to be her folklore?
