In a perfect world… you know the rest. But yeah, that’s how it is. I think it’s ok to have theories on WHY someone wasn’t nominated (ie: how I feel about LNX), but no one is entitled to a nomination. 

Tbf she deserved one for Wild Side video. Maybe it being 10 months old cost her but still

It's what she deserves for her constant cycle of releasing a single, claim it's her most "real" song yet to her as a person and artist, say an album is coming soon, perform at the VMAs, wait a year, claim the old song wasn't "it", promise the album is even closer to release and repeat.

Bold of you to think that she should be nominated regardless of Jack Harlow  the girl doesn't even have an album out like

Okay but this makes no sense in this context because if we're going by "stats", Wild Side's video has more views than half the songs nominated in the Video of the Year category

 

I generally agree that she shouldn't expect nominations in most categories because of her inconsistent release schedule and her random disappearing acts, but there's really no convincing argument for why she didn't deserve a VOTY nomination over some of the videos nominated in that category. That video was better than at least half the nominees in quality, impact/hype and raw stats.

Fair being a ballad isn't an excuse when Summer Walker/SZA are able to score hits with those exact type of slow R&B records. It's a bomb regardless. Treat Me is too but at least that charted and they both have the exact same streams
