Yes artist yes more albums is YES more units on an UNITS chart covering someones ENTIRE discography. What is so hard to understand, really? Please enlighten me. :deadbanana4:

And notice how you ignored multiple posters showing you that in 2019 she topped the chart with one album :coffee:

I used IFPI artist list in an argument about which artist is bigger. You are the one using albums or excluding them in a conversation about artists. Make it make sense.    And Taylor

The way you make it seem like ''Directioner'' is an insult is so weird. I'm not a even a fan of them or have never cared for them but this is just plain WEIRD

The fact that it's not offensive because I was, indeed, "a Directioner" for three solid years (2012-2015) and the band had some bangers is the worst part. They can call me "Directioner" till they run out of breath it does not faze me in the slightest. Harry still sings WMYB and I still shake my ass to it during his concerts.

Your logic being...?

It's the fact that you need to reach to Taylor's back catalogue to compete with current artists to prove that... she's not being outsold by current artists. Which if you pay attention close to the last sentence, means that she is being outsold by current artists. But everyone that's following the conversation who isn't a Swizzle fan can see it, so I don't think anyone is bothering to prove it anymore. Because it's pointless. You are going to act clueless about this forgone conclusion forever even though you know it's the truth because antes muerta que admitir que Harry Styles outsold.

This. This is exactly the reason, because you are stuck in those years, both in your view of the the pop world and in your maturity level :rip: Thank you for proving my point :rip:

Lennon and Harrison wrote it via Ouija board.

Notice how they now call me "Styles fan" maybe they're scared Harry will pass Taylor's CSPC total at some point now that I can count 70M and he's still selling well? Don't worry @HeadlockI don't think he will because Swizzle is gonna keep putting out half a dozen albums per year calendar, you're safe, you can go back to try to shade me with your cringy gifs and unfunny namecalling

Now you're playing dumb to the point? Truly, can you come up with something else :rip:

First, it's only because she released five albums that she topped the chart, now that she does it with only one you move the goalposts again :ace:

SO you agree? Her entire discography is being counted on that chart and not just one album? So you agree that by logic it only makes sense that Taylor moved more UNITS on a chart that counts someone's entire discography when they've released six more albums than some of the artists on the chart?

Except that's not the truth.

A larger catalog does NOT guarantee you a higher placement on the IFPI chart and there are plenty of examples proving this over the years…

Adele

#1 in 2015 (with 3 albums)

#3 in 2021 (with 4 albums)

Billie Eilish

#4 in 2017 (with 1 album)

#7 in 2021 (with 2 albums)

Colpay

#3 in 2016 (with 7 albums)

N/A in 2021 (with 9 albums)

Drake

#1 in 2016 (with 4 albums)

#4 in 2021 (with 6 albums)

Ed Sheeran

#1 in 2017 (with 3 albums)

#5 in 2021 (with 5 albums)

Justin Bieber

#4 in 2015 (with 4 albums)

#8 in 2021 (with 6 albums)

One Direction

#1 in 2013 (with 3 albums)

#5 in 2015 (with 5 albums)

As you can see, all these artists declined on the list the more albums they released.

All these examples just show how it is NOT the norm for you to perform better on this all-unit chart with a larger catalog.

You can never win with Swifties. They don’t battle with logic they battle with standards they make up themselves and they change them constantly to feed their own narrative. Anything to make sure another female artist doesn’t get credit cause god forbid women can co-exist and slay together

Babes I wasn't paying attention to the charts in 2012, I was 14 years old :rip: and "view of the pop world"? Huh? I don't dislike Taylor because she dated Harry, please let that strange notion go. I think Olivia Wilde is a goddess, I loved Camille Rowe, I even low key have a crush on Kendall Jenner. My problem with Taylor Swift is her personality (and I don't like her music). Not that she and Harry dated for 3 months when Harry was a teenager. Perhaps that's your problem with Harry, and if so, stop projecting your issues on other people I literally couldn't give less of a f*ck.

That... is literally how charts work :rip:

No, it's not. That's how THAT chart works. The IFPI artists chart counts global sales for every artist during a calendar year counting their entire catalogue. It's the only chart that works that way, which is why it's the only chart Taylor topped in 2019 (she did well on pure sales as well, but IFPI took way too long to include streams in their albums chart, they didn't until 2020). Billie Eilish destroyed Taylor that year, and a lot of other artists did better as well (Post Malone, for instance).

But you know this, you're just playing dumb because you don't want to admit she's currently being outsold by multiple artists. Which she is.

If I'm not mistaken Billie has a decline in Spotify streams despite releasing new album in 2021 compared to previous year so yeah, not every artist can experience boost in their disco after having more albums :celestial5:

Who said it's guaranteed? By this token, Taylor  Swift "declined" in 2017 when she was #3 despite having released a new album and previously having been #1... And in 2020 when she went from #1 to #2 despite releasing 2 albums.

The point is that a January-December chart that counts artists' entire catalogue does not measure how the artists' current projects are doing as opposed to other artists' current projects, which is what I said. To do that, you have to compare project by project. And comparing project by project, you have to use CSPC. And using CSPC Taylor is being outsold by multiple artists currently. And no one needs to "hide behind Adele" which was what set off this entire argument. And looking at the IFPI artists' chart, clearly nobody was using Adele to hide behind considering she only topped the chart once since the chart has existed (8 years).

So what are you even trying to argue?

26 minutes ago, More Than A Melody said:

You use CSPC when it's convenient for you, IFPI pure sales when it's convenient for you, IFPI artists' chart when it's convenient for you, and so forth (never global all formats, for some strange reason). It's never consistent what kind of receipts you use because you bend and twist to whatever fits your argument that day.

I used IFPI artist list in an argument about which artist is bigger. You are the one using albums or excluding them in a conversation about artists. Make it make sense.

The argument here is: multiple artists nowadays are currently aka with their current projects outselling Taylor Swift

And Taylor is moving more units hence why she is bigger artist. I am not going to exclude 1989's 4M daily streams because it is not convenient for you. That's saying like The Weeknd is not even among top 20 biggest artists right now because Dawn FM tanked. There is nothing to argue about that.
