did the same with actors now... Cary Grant, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Alain Delon, James Stewart, Gary Cooper, Humphrey Bogart are my most nominated actors... not a good list since I don't like Stewart, Cooper and Bogart that much but since they owned the 1930s and 1940s they get multiple filler noms.
