Kinda concerned about the upbeat part tho lol. 

 

Like, i don't want pure pop. sorry, neither dance/disco. It's 2022. It's oversatured IMO

This will only work if she brings something fresh, new to the table.

Also, a pop/upbeat era usually  needs great aesthetic, high budget MVs, performances and good promo. She won't do anything of that, so  lol

 

I want something different. I'm desperately craving a pop/r&b/ alternative album from her. Give me more GFY,  Crowded Room, A Sweeter Place, Fetish and  Bad Liar type of songs, girl.

Give me a 90's aesthetic too.

She never said it was gonna be dance, I believe she meant to say that it was gonna be a dance album as in that it will make people dance. She will always have dance songs though, that’s a genre she has always embraced, ever since K&T with Naturally. I wouldn’t mind songs like Kiss Me More, that was dance pop. Let’s see what she does, I’m excited!

I do think she will be there. She returns to NYC today for Fallon + she is settled there already for S3 so I don’t see why they won’t take advantage of that. The question is what could she do: be part of the monologue, a live skit or one that is pre-recorded. Can’t wait to find all of this out on Sat lol

I think worst case scenario she's on a pre-recorded skit like Steve was when she hosted, and actually that's what I'm thinking is gonna happen for some reason. Would love if she showed up during the monologue, but either way I doubt she's not appearing in some capacity

She was awesome on Fallon. Can't wait for the new era

One of the things a love about Selena is how she's ahead of her time. Bad Liar still  impress me everytime i listen to it. I want to see more of this side from her. I really think Selena would florish if she invested in  a sound more pop/alternative. 

 

I'm no going to complaint if she serves a bop like Kiss Me More tho

Exactly! And they can use this opportunity to remind people of OMITB ahead of the winter awards season. First round voting for the SAG awards started yesterday so I’m sure they also chose this Saturday and it is not coincidental. Hulu is not really campaigning this time so I believe they are using SNL for that. I really hope it does not flop at the winter awards since I know it might underperform at the Emmys 2023 since it will have been a year since it aired (although I’m sure they will campaign for that and get Selena on Actors on Actors and do Q&As and events).

No Critics Choice nom for Selena this year. The only nom for the show was for Steve Martin. Not even the show in Best Comedy Series. I’m scared she will end up just getting Best Comedy Ensemble at the SAG awards this winter awards season (if anything). I would be confident about the GG but I am literally not, like 10% at most. 
 

I’m not even mad that it missed and thought it deserved, but because I love when she attends the award shows and is seen among other actors/takes pics with them. She was so happy about the Meryl interaction so I hope, if they get the SAG Ensemble nom, that she wants to go again (it was the best award show she attended this year anyway, and the CCAs were really boring)

sad to hear that, she was nominated for the 1st season and she was even better on the 2nd season 

but at least is a sign for us to don't get our hopes up.

I mean they are getting dragged on Goldderby for the absolute nonsensical nominations so it is not just them snubbing OMITB. 
 

But yes, like I said, I’m not expecting anything this year other than an Ensemble nom at the SAG awards and hopefully another Producers Guild Award nom. Cause the Golden Globes are shady as hell too and she is def not getting a Lead Actress nom at SAG. Just hoping that if they get that nom they attend, cause the show was just everything

they really did De Una Vez dirty. it had the potential to have so much longevity. one of her best songs and videos. oh well.
