Tbh this has crossed my mind as well, but she was in her 20s when she released all her albums. Now she's in her late 30s, and had kids. I'm not sure she'll ever go back to being 2016 skinny.

No you're right that's what usually happens with her. She sheds weight before an era starts. This happened during the transition from Rated R's last cycle to Loud, then Loud's cycle into Talk That Talk. I think just before Talk That Talk dropped was the thickest she was pre-2017. So you're not wrong. Anyway, I actually agree with you, although I too would like a thicker Rih for the era.

Yeah this is also something to consider. It just feels like she's fully in mommy mode now. Plus we're still seeing her out and about. We shall see regardless.

We were ya'll at after she give birth to Riot.... from January-March 2024 she was almost ANTI skinny until she got pregnant again

The thought of a proper era with a lead single announcement and release and album announced months earlier confuses me tbh. I've always thought that she would have returned with an album surprise release and called it a day, if ever.

Anyways love her to death but my expectations for a new era or even new music itself are very low. I feel like she truly detached herself from the music world and I have strong doubts about her dedication….even Anti era was very questionable, not to mention her latest attempts at music (I still have nightmares of Friend of Mine or whatever it was called).

The only questionable things about Anti is the messy rollout and the fact that we missed out on a Grammy performance for Kiss It Better (and a Brits performance of LOTB).

So we are pretending we didn't beg for a video for LOTB (a career defining single) back then or forget the whole ANTI tour fiasco (her being always late, show being very short etc)

Right, but most eras had performances, videos, and a tour.

In addition to the point already raised, she also attempted to start the era three times with FFS, BBHMM, and American Oxygen () and then the messy antiDiary thing or whatever that abruptly stopped for months when the album still wasn't finished. Anti is excellent and a classic, but thinking the rollout/era was a mess compared to R1-R7 is totally valid and reducing the facts to "complaining" doesn't make sense.

Let's not be unfair now, the ANTI era kicked off in January 2015 when she released FourFiveSeconds. It lasted nearly 2 years, gave us 6 music videos, and many live performances (on TV, on tour, or on festivals). We also had ANTI diary, and while the rollout was messy, the concept was pretty amazing and so were the visuals.

By the time the album came out Rihanna had already done the equivalent of a full album cycle with multiple videos, televised performances, magazine covers throughout 2015. All while being in the studio and trying to finish the record.

Take me back to 2015. I'd do anything to relive that. It was a mess but it was so exciting.

What i'm saying is that y'all are choosing to focus on the negatives and pretending there was nothing good about the era.

Saying it was "messy" is one thing, saying it was "very questionable" or that the tour was a "fiasco" is another.
