I loved the halftime show I still watch it regularly but that was a 10 minute lipped performance where she didn't really dance…? What makes that show really really good is the production, the stage and the camerawork. And you don't really see those things in a regular Rihanna show lol

 

Rock in Rio was her last good performance imo, thanks to her and the crowd's energy.

At this point I feel like she is insecure to release. I can't find another reason. Many popstars have their children and their businesses and they still manage to release music, go on tour, etc. Sometimes I miss the days she was a label puppet!  The hits were spreading left and right!

Ok you didn't like it, but to say it was bad when people continue to go back to it on YouTube and it still goes viral on social media these days... is simply not true. And it wasn't exactly "lipped" they just used her pre-recorded vocals from rehearsals and they do this for every Super Bowl to make sure it's perfect.

My main issue with the Super Bowl was the second half of it lost momentum. It needed a Pon de Replay or Don't Stop the Music moment. The Pour It Up/Pose section was a miss for me. And she may as well not have bothered with Umbrella it was completely half assed the way they did it. I could've forgiven all that if she hit hit the Diamonds note at the end but that wasn't there either. 

 

As great as it was it could've been better.

 

Rock In Rio is probably one of her best performances ever tbh. I'd give anything to see her show that energy again one day.

The second half was for the straights and considering it's a football event I think it made sense. They weren't tryna cater the gays lol

But that's what I like about Umbrella. That section was a very great introduction to her lifetime anthem Diamonds.

This is crazy to think about, my dog a husky wasn't even born back then and he's now 7. My other dog was about to be 15 when ANTI came out. He died 2 weeks later after the release.  So much time has gone, we're in reaching 10 years since ANTI without a new album.
