I hate myself for having such low expectations, but I couldn't care less about visual effects and stage, all I need is great music production (with the band), great transitions, and most importantly VOCALS - VMAs 2016, outside of the ballad medley, was the opposite.

 

Please, no lazy vocals, after 7 years that's the least we deserve. Instead of line skipping, give us adlibs or try something new for once. She's capable of sooooo much more. I went through some of her best tour vocals last night

That's fundamentally wrong. NFL team cares about viewers. Football fans are already going to be tuned in and dont really care about who's playing at halftime. The Eagles vs Chiefs are already locked in. The biggest area of growth in terms of viewership are NON-FOOTBALL FANS that are tuning in exclusively because they love Rihanna NOT football. Rihanna making a big annoucement doesn't take away from the game, it literally will bring in more viewers that don't gaf about football otherwise.

I thought the VMAS medleys were nice but more importantly she has clearly improved since 

I mean I know the Fenty shows are not comparable to a superbowl set but clearly the production and neat transitions are there

Exactly, and that's why they have an entire press conference for THE HALFTIME SHOW specifically, because that's how they get non-sports fan to tune in. After today's conference, the headlines are "Rihanna's Superbowl performance will be Caribbean themed". That's what makes non-sports fans (and non-Rihanna stans) to tune in. If the headline is "Rihanna announces tour" then there's no Superbowl in the headlines.

I didn't mean to body shame her in any way, she's perfect in every shape and size. She's just been vocal about having insecurities that she hides with the baggy oversized (crap) stuff she's been wearing in the last few years...

 

She probably had the same weight in the Loud days, but didn't seem to care back then and wore whatever she wanted.

I understood what you meant 

 

Its true that the last period she was wearing baggy oversized stuff ... but it was to go to a restaurant,  not to perform at the SuperBowl 🤣

 

 

Big YES to her making sonically experimental and unexpected music. I hope we get to hear it soon.

 

I wasn’t expecting an announcement on this interview but her answers to music questions here awfully resembles her answers from years ago so I’ll just stay expecting nothing. If she’s planning a surprise, which imo is not likely from her, it will be good fun.

She was extremely lean from touring in 2009-2011 plus she was very young then, not even mid-20s. Her weight gain doesn't necessarily have to do with stamina I'm sure she's well prepared for the show, she always gave extra whenever her show was televised. I'm sure this time it'll be no different

Ok my theory about her dropping the lead single tomorrow is obviously wrong....but nothing she said in the conversation makes me think music is NOT on the horizon. As long as the rumors about the tour are true....new music is coming

 

She looks soooo good, I'm crazy excited about Sunday. I'm legitimately scared regarding the possibility of new music though. ugh. REally fun to see an interview with her again though

That interview was a choice. 

I was't able to watch the whole interview....did they ask her about special guests for the performance?

Also....is it confirmed that she's not doing any ballads? If so, she'll probably do Diamonds and partial acoustic for WFL

She looked so good at the press conference. Gorgeous! 
 

I wasn’t expecting her to announce anything today. If there is an album and a tour, it will be announced after the Superbowl. 
It was so great to hear her again though and I hope we’ll hear her talk a bit more in depth about things during the podcast on Sunday.

I loved when she said that now every minute of working is a minute away from her son 

 

 

The Super Bowl trailer is beautiful by the way. Actually got quite emotional watching it. 

She's not going on tour without new music. Nobody in her position does that. Even when Beyonce toured post-Superbowl before releasing her self-titled album, it was because she hadn't done a proper tour for her last album 4.
