Mau ® Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Wtf, he has always been supportive of Rihanna I can’t believe he said that. I mean I CAN BELIEVE IT, I just thought he would respect Rih. ******* clown
DonDesperado Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Now we can be happy because she has the excuse to not invite him to the SB. She loves him and she always says that he is like a friend. I had the feeling that she can invite him just because of their friendship
collin Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 There’s no way Rihanna would invite Kanye to the halftime show. And it’s even less likely that it would be green lit by the NFL.
RihRihGirrrl Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Billboard is a mess.....and correct if I'm wrong but website purchases weren't available in the first 3 days so her tram would not have been responsible for any reported sales? The first 3 days sales were only available on ITunes thus wouldn't ITunes be responsible for reporting the numbers?
Devin Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Idk why y’all thought she would invite Kanye in the first place ijbol. NFL wouldn’t risk a public meltdown.

Cheers Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Ahhhh When she tweets "yall THOT I was gonna comeback with just a lullaby...? lol" and drops the R9 lead cover with an iconic new hairstyle ahh
zzmyth Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 And about the performance of the song... I still think given the circumstances it's doing pretty well. The only thing I'm not happy about is the 'huge push' they did on radios. And that's what's bothering me about not doing better... Getting those placements with a soundtrack song (like this) is great. So in that sense it shows people are waiting for Rih's music. But having gotten that much 'it's her comeback promo, and radio deal' it goes to overshadow the results. If it was released as a new song for the film (what it really was) the numbers would feel much much better tbh
rihannafan Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 So does no one think the Depp situation is even weirder now that the show didn't address it? It's even weirder that he's not on the trailer at all

Probably is something with Disney doing some kinda deal with Rih. To try to clean some of his image to try and do some more pirates of the Caribbean
aaron511 Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 "This song wasn't made to chart well" guys please There wasn't such strong push for a Rihanna song since LOUD era probably. The insane radio deal? 17 music videos? Great playlisting? Being attached to one of the biggest movies of recent years? Selling the single on her website? It's just sad really. The public said no to the song and so have most of the Navy. It's okay, flops happen, but don't defend it by calling it "a small soundtrack single that wasn't meant to smash eitherway" cause

Actually she pushed flop songs before. And actually one of the things I love most about her is that she never got bothered to get absolute hits all the time. She went from Man Down to We Found Love. She went from cockiness to Diamonds... She went from Shut Up And drive to don't stop the music. She went from Rockstar 101 to Only Girl... I mean... The real navys know that she has singles that do not perform perfectly well, and she always has better runs than starts... So the only difference this time is the gap between singles.... Coz her last song (believe it) had much worse numbers... But that didn't bother her at all

I'm just asking for some of the Navy to stop embarassing themselves saying "this was never meant to smah" when clearly Disney/Marvel/Def Jam/whoever pulled all the gimmicks to make it smash.

The song was/is intended to garner an Oscar nomination....if they wanted to secure a smash they wouldn't have released a slow ballad in the streaming era....there have been hardly any of those. Sure they pushed it hard cause they wanted to get that #1 to help the chances of getting an Oscar nom

Going #1 is smashing I mean... I get your point but that's litearlly the thing. They clearly wanted the #1 but once it became obvious she wasn't getting it the Navy's like "it was never meant to smash". When in reality - they tried, they failed, oh well, moving on. That's all I'm saying

That's all I'm saying I think their point is that the song just isn't hit material. They obviously tried and failed to get the #1 this week, probably thinking that the hype and the big push would be enough.. but if they wanted to achieve an actual hit they would've picked something different. That or they're completely clueless

That's all I'm saying No, the #1 title here is desired because of the publicity it can generate for an Oscar campaign, not because it would be a massive song in the long run
