  • I love how after years of disappointments and lies some fans still get angry at someone questioning this girl's career choices   and please stop pushing this "you want her to do generic pop

I'm sorry but I can't stand that flip flop flipping ass bxtch Zach.   Any who. The hype was dead they said. Nobody cared they said. The engagement will never be like it was with Motivation t

Lmao l genuinely thought the rollout would get better with the new management, but here we are yet again…releasing the album cover prematurely, making us wait TWO whole months efficiently killing hype, releasing 1:59 when it is not even lead material (though I like it A LOT), lousy TikTok promotion, the constant need for silence, no video, and a frigging release party on YouTube for AUDIO?!?? :skull:

Also, why is 1:59 impacting Urban when they have Candy Paint about to overshadow it the second it gets released? I hate her team and RCA.

Well…tea. So far, this is no different than those S10 rollouts. Whatever happens next is going to determine if the new management is any good though. If they fumble a Gunna feature, I have no words.

Let's see how post-release weeks leading up to the (2+ weeks late) radio adds, plays out. I wanna see a radio tour, music video, and more laying the groundwork for Candy Paint to be the next single.

To beat S10, they would need to get her the above + tv performances + BET performance slot + a tour + international promo at some point pre-album. :bird:

I'm very into sultry R&B and I do agree it's not meant for everyone. Hopefully you guys find a way to get into it. It can flop for all I care, I just want a ****** MV. Is that too much to ask? What's the plan exactly?????????????

So am I but it's just this song in particular which isn't hitting for me. Idk why. Still gonna stream and buy the **** out of it but actually liking it would make things a lot easier :rip:

Spoiler

A visualiser is coming at some point :suburban:

Spoiler

Hoping they stick to the plan and move onto Candy soon

Music video or no Music video aside. Were y'all really not expecting the lead single not to at least be sent to radio? :deadbanana2:

LMFAO i been saying this. there's a method to her madness usually. imagine a lead single with no video, that doesnt even sound like normani.

I hope this ages well cause even EYE wouldn't put it past her. She's so unserious sometimes.

To be fair, YouTube doesn't seem to be bringing that many streams for artists like it used to do so I assume that it's more convenient for both artists and labels to do some TikTok videos / Instagram reels rather than full MVs that can cost quite a bit.

Candy paint seems more suited for rhythmic radio but ok lol?

you literally have no idea how anything is going to look lol. why do y'all come in here bashing the girl? it sounds like you try to convince yourselves what she does isnt good because you're threatened lol.

Get a hold of reality, get a good grip and hold on tight. No one in her is bashing Normani, everyone spends their personal time in this thread because we all share love her and wants to see her excel in the industry. Yet, let's not be dull-witted because we don't agree with someone's opinion.

None of us know the aesthetics of the era and we can say what direction we would want to see her explore. I, personally, as in my own opinion, don't care to see her rehash what she, herself, has already done. It's not that I've abhorred what she's done, but Candy Paint is not interesting anymore, nor is the throwbacks. We know she's a throwback girl and can play that role well,  but it's time for something more scintillating than candy.

I like the little details "turn it up, turn it up"

and that ad-lib before the bridge/3rd verse is so moody and chefs kiss

so interesting, I was wondering how they were gonna fit ad libs into the song

it's very pretty music

that's definitely an urban radio song as well

Starting to feel like this, it's a little too quiet...

Ok but it seems smarter to promote candy paint on rhythmic radio, which is probably what her team will end up doing. There's nothing wrong with having 2 songs dominate. Doesn't mean they're gonna overshadow each other.

I was so ticked off earlier because this rollout has been a mess, and nothing seemed to make sense. But now, I'm just rolling with it because, honestly, it's up to me whether to support her or not, and I know I'm sticking with her. So, I'm just gonna cross my fingers and give her all the support I can.

I love release weeks. The meltdowns. The panic attacks. The conspiracy theories. The people that claim that nobody's checking for her watching her base thread like a hawk as if we can't see their user names at the bottom of the screen. Its all so comical because we really don't know anything.  Just running on the last bit of hope we have.

But the combo of messy artist + messy label will always result in these types of rollouts unfortunately. An insider on Instagram's now saying that we haven't gotten a lot of what we should've had during this rollout so far.

After seeing the horrible feedback from the snippets, they should've updated their plans

I mean the insiders already said that normani will be releasing another song very quickly after this one and her album is supposed to be coming next month. This isn't going to be a typical album release where there needs to be a hit song attached to the album release.

I also don't think the reception has been bad at all.

Are we still believing insiders in 2024?

"Insiders" that have been proven to be correct and posted in here several times that have given us song lyrics and song titles, yes actually. These aren't the fake insiders on twitter.

And "viral hate" tweets don't mean anything. Social media is not real life. The people on twitter hate a bunch of people that are successful. It means absolutely nothing if the general public likes the song. We will see how they react to after it's on radio for a while.

Let's be for real, it fits MULTIPLE formats - Pop, Rhythmic, and Urban. If Kill Bill, On My Mama, and Agora Hills smashed on all these three formats, then Candy Paint shouldn't have a problem with doing the same.

Also, Normani isn't the type of artist who can have more than one song smashing. She isn't even that popular so yes, they will mess up if they move forward with sending 1:59 to Urban when Candy Paint will easily cannibalize it. And I do mean easily.

Actually viral mean something… it's the reason why some want Candy paint to be successfull on TikTok.

Normani needs to focus on creating a strong relationship with her fans during this era. They don't thrust her no more and even people that used to defend her all the time are tired. She needs to stop playing. I hope she vlogs/ do release parties / live twitch or instagram / hope a private space like discord. I don't understand she literally was in a band that was quite close to its fanbase ( it wasn't perfect trust me) why can she be aspired by that ?
