Isn't it amusing that there's actual members here who are walking examples of stanning or casually fan-girling over the "good artists" while simultaneously upholding regressive views as it pertains to geopolitics and societal challenges? and then when you highlight this observation, it gets dismissed by the very same people who claim that you or anyone else is being performative. This notion that your world view is automatically the same as an artist you casually listen to and gag over when they look good in public, in this case Nicki, is beyond immature and borderline offensive especially to people who maintain nuance when navigating most of life or when it comes to diving into specific topics.

mostly offensive because you then realize the individuals you are trying to make sense with are genuine idiots who aren't capable of having somewhat basic and thoughtful dialogue with. And for reasons as such, I don't really care to prove any points until it makes sense to the other party. Its going to take some time for pea-brained dingbats to finally grasp that no matter what team they cheer for, they're either silently or blatantly cheering for what they wont benefit from in the end. Why is it that by default our opinions on, for example Gaza, easily disposed as "performative" only because we cant help but gag over Nicki looking good and not locked up in that mansion? nothing will ever change the fact that she's a pretty women who's also multi-talented. Of course I'm always going to keep tabs on what she's looking like and what she's promoting. lol.

I cant act like I'm so shocked at Nicki and what she apparently supports (I was at first, actually, like everyone else) (I still don't buy into this MAGA era since she sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about and is just accepting free cash from this administration she just looks and sounds stupid) and consciously think the other Dem/Liberal pop girlies who claim to oppose this current administration (while doing and saying nothing this entire time) not act like they benefit the most from it.

It's like, how hard is it to understand that Nicki's MAGA fockery doesn't make 11 any more talented or their faves any more progressive. At the very least, we're self aware enough to call it out when it comes to pink lady & can actually acknowledge faults & openly express what we do and don't support. They don't seem to have that same capability when it comes to their fave, it's blind support to an absurd degree & any critical commentary is taken as a personal offence. They're more like the Twitter Barbz than they care to admit lol.

There's no room for nuance & most are a literal embodiment of the very behaviour they claim to be against. When they struggle to put together a relevant argument, they opt for dismissive personal character jabs in an attempt to undermine character & deflect from the actual substance.

As someone who's family & loved ones overseas are experiencing ramifications as a direct result of actions committed by leaders of both dem & rep administrations, I do not care to make the same differentiation between the 2 that they might. Most of their faves still supported and tap danced for an administration that was responsible for irredeemable horrors - the difference is it had media backing & was sold to them as aspirational hope & change. That isn't my reality, even though I understand if it's theirs. Also, these people do not give a fock lol. The music industry is a capitalist game. You have to possess a heightened level of greed and narcissism to even want to play in it. They are not my god or my heroes, just because I can appreciate the artistry & skill.

They can spin all the PR and say all the right things they want. I'd rather a bish that owns it publicly, than the facade.

I like unshakable loyalty to your loved ones and family. I like a woman single handedly taking on powerful men. I like a brash defiance of social norms. I like a mother who won't back down. And I'm inspired by the message of perseverance & success against all odds. These are my takeaways from her & what I choose to absorb. And it's fine if others don't.

In the end, the music that's been the soundtrack to my life is what I'm here for & I'm not apologising for at least allowing myself to indulge in the escapism it provides from this worldly mess. Plus she's funny, memeable & unpredictable af, and arguably one of the most interesting people in music right now regardless of how one feels about her, it's like watching a reality show unfold and I'm invested & what ghey doesn't love a cxnty villain arc, lol.
