Mariah loves shading some of her earlier work. Prisoner is amazing, and I listen to it all the time.

was it actually from the demo tape demo? or was it simply an unused adlib?

It will be a different take or a demo. It wasn't on her original demo tape.

also. I just wanna say that so much of Mariah’s sound, singing, and songwriting, is so dreamy and cloud-like.  🥰 

I have her OG perfume with the purple butterfly, and the way it smells is so reminiscent of that dreamy quality of her music.
