Spotify update was kinda off for friday songs barely rised in streams or decreased but it was national book day or smth ? 
 

 

Weird spotify update that songs are decreased on a Friday. Still amazing numbers for DWAS. 

These numbers are insane, I LOVED the song on the first listen but I couldn't imagine the GP would eat it up this hard

Sabrina's previous singles payola is way too much, radio needs to drop them first to focus on Taste. 

 

+ Her main format is Pop radio and pop radio only. So her rise to above 30M+ audience is at least 2-2.5 months away. DWAS getting played a lot on 3 formats and that will easily help her. 

 

Another note, Taste music video is dying while DWAS mv still pulling over 2M views and its stronger on US amazon + itunes.

I think as for the lead single (and I guess singles in general) they need to strike a balance between commercial appeal but also something that is quintessentially Gaga and doesn't get lost in the mix. As someone else said and I agree, an anthemic chorus is a must. The visuals are also incredibly important to get the song going, in my opinion. Both SL and PI lacked a great chorus that makes you sing along and noteworthy visuals (SL mv in particular was so beneath her standarts, it's insane). I guess even if the lead doesn't work out they have some surefire collaboration planned for later on (probably The Weeknd), but I'd really love to see this era starting off on the right foot, and for a Gaga solo song to shine.

They had a lot of time to plan and since she's feeling so inspired there really is no excuse this time around. I'm somehow confident and nervous simultaneously.

The gap may be to account for the Christmas freeze. That'll take two months off the gap which then technically means only a two month gap from single to album. I'm curious to see what they'll do to keep hope up during the Christmas time.

Industry execs have been trying to move the release date of songs to tuesday. Coincidently in the last few weeks songs on spotify have peaked on tuesdays (DAWS included). Maybe it's related.
