Imagine telling anyone here at the beginning of the year that Gaga would release a song that could very well end up being bigger than Shallow  and Shallow itself is already an insane accomplishment seeing as it's a country-rock ballad with an unorthodox structure that was released 10+ years into her career. Now it's her 2nd biggest hit WW with 35 million (ish) SPS units. And DWAS could go on to surpass that 

The way some of the girlies and I were ready to jump after the negative Saturday update when she dropped 1M+ streams… only for DWAS to gain back 1M+ streams and repeak on a MONDAY 

 

She could easily repeak at 12M+ daily streams at the end of tracking week

It's possible, but strongly depends on if A Bar Song decreases significantly and if Taste takes off. I don't see PPP, Espresso, or that Post Malone song holding on next week, which will open up the top 3 for DWAS

i don't see why she doesn't open pre-orders for LG7. Just do what Björk did for Utopia or Beyoncé did for the acts: open the pre-orders for "Lady Gaga's seventh studio album" and just reveal all the details at a later date.

 

With DWAS push, Joker push, increasing recurrent streams push she could do amazing numbers. You could even do a surprise release of sorts: just open the pre-orders with vague details and then announce the release shortly beforehand. A full-blown surprise release doesn't work anymore, but a shorthand announcement like what she did with DWAS (or what Ariana did for Positions and Taylor for folk/more) could do wonders

 

Hell she could pull a reverse Nicki/Beyoncé and foil people into thinking DWAS is on the album tracklist just for it to be nowhere in the final release this way, people would stream LG7 with DWAS expectations and then would rush to stream the song once they found out it's nowhere there. A win-win situation imo

To be honest, I think we are really close to an announcement. An extended leak of "Garden of Eden," she teased two different songs in Paris, and now she's been wearing the black "LG7" wig for two weeks without any specific reason. She literally said in her TikTok that she wants to drop all her new music at once... I don't know, maybe I'm just being overly optimistic again, but for months we've talked about the momentum and excitement around her and her music, and now they've built that up with DWAS and Joker coming out soon.

 

Opening the preorders now is a smart move. When newspapers will write about Joker and her red carpet looks, they'll mention at the end that she also has a new album coming out on the xxth of October. It's free promo.

It's fine not to like it, but I find it really strange to criticize the production when all we can hear is the melody. We can't even make out most of the lyrics yet.
