She no longer needs hot collabs at this stage of career. Either she thinks she can push the Madonna road and then she needs full blown eras true reinvention and digs up up-and-coming producers (Madonna worked with William Orbit and Mirwais at the perfect timing) delivering avant-garde yet mainstream pop music or she stays in the lane she is going for more like Barbara Streisand, and gets every now and then artistic acclaim in movie ventures and the occasional Grammy nod. The route of her going for the hot younger artist as a feature is a losing game and short-sighted.

I was half joking but I would consider working with “hotter younger artists,” as you put it, the Madonna route.

At this point, I don’t really care what route she takes (I love HMM & watched HOG more than I probably should have) but I want her to interact with culture again — even if it’s the occasional fun little feature with an artist who respects her.
 

A decade ago I thought it was cool that she sticked to herself but now she openly interacts with other artists in just about every way that isn’t music. That’s frustrating because there’s just as much she could learn from younger artist as she could teach them. I get that she wants to be the godmother of pop or whatever but she can do both.

speaking of Madonna road, I kinda don't want Gaga to jump on "IT" artists at the moment. Madonna did it and collabed/worked with anyone popular at one point (just see her SB performance) and in the grand scheme of things, it seemed desperate as most of those "IT" artists are flops/nobodies now, and I think Gaga's career is too young for that anyway.

 

Ari with ROM doesn't count since she's been in the industry for a decade when they collabed so Ariana is tested, BP is the one that is new and IT, but still made sense since they are on the same label but yeah, wasn't a single anyway.

I agree. Jumping on hot new artists is tacky and comes off as desperate unless it fits. ROM and Sour Candy kinda made sense, but Gaga and Cardi’s / BB’s sounds are so different I can’t see it happening.

Yes Ari / BB was kinda fitting to me. And it was part of an album which opened to me a promising and eventful era, with an unfortunate timing. Imo Gaga just needs to clarify the path she wants to take, cause I have the feeling a lot of her early fans still expect something that she may never be willing to give again, because it means constantly work hard to make the trends.

Gaga is so lucky she is INSANELY talented because the amount of mess ups she and her team have done would knock out any Main Pop Girl to pure flop status.

The lack of singles., lack of music videos, the lack of PLAYLISTING, hardly any push on social media for her music releases etc..etc...etc...

All she does is perform and somehow that always works out for her which is amazing. It's low key miraculous in this day and age and it all comes down to her raw talent

i like to think they have abandoned streaming and are focusing on radio. UK's biggest radio stations, Radio 2, kept it on their A-list. ive also never seen a song debut as high as #51 on our UK chart with only itunes and N/A Spotify/AM so it means its doing well else where
