Like when I see on Twitter, in online circles or irl conversations, any instance of someone dressing up weirdly, playing up their eccentricities and being avant-garde, people say “the Lady Gaga of _______” or “they are serving Gaga” or use her as a reference point. That ability to impart that kind of self-confidence to and liberate so many people around the world with your voice and your artistry is an enormous gift. Numbers, streams, sales; they come and go.
