Dua's team wouldn't get to hear Gaga's single  it's just that it's obvious that Gaga would destroy Dua on day 1 and take the attention away from her. Also, Dua really needs a hit after Houdini tanked, so it's best for her to push back her song.

Yeah lbr a big chunk of Dua's fanbase are bigger fans of Gaga. Even if her singles perform better over time, on the first day Gaga is going to get the most attention by a huge margin, especially considering it would be 1st single from an artist who has been away from music for a long time vs. 2nd single from someone who is constantly releasing and getting hits. I guess It could make sense for Dua to try and avoid Gaga.

This is not true, there was a huge push to make sure Stupid Love landed high that debut week as well as Rain On Me. Perfect Illusion also had a radio deal despite being so off from what pop radio would play long term. Maybe she's not threatened by competition, but obviously Interscope wants a successful debut and she would as well. Especially after another few years, they'd want all eyes on her releases.

People on Gagadaily already in panic mode due to Blade's comment. I hope he clarifies whether it was just spec or if he has new tea / has heard new rumblings

The meltdowns will be epic if it's crickets until mid-february  I'm sure she's coming first half of this year so it'll be fine eventually though.
