Honestly, after singing along to the lyrics I absolutely adore the song. BUT it could've been sung by someone else and there wouldn't be much of a difference for me. (Studio version at least)

A lead single would’ve had a radio deal (this one hasn’t even had 20 radio adds), a music video, TTH placement — very likely at #1.. That’s about as big of a difference you can get setting a song up commercially.
