The Chromatica Ball footage being DELAYED (until it's shelved) is because as part of the strike, she ain't allowed to promote anything that's related to films or TV shows aka she would need to cut Shallow / Always Remember Us this Way and Hold My Hand to release the film NOW

Gaga wanted to be part of the editing herself I guess, hence why the film didn't get a closer release date to the final show. She was busy in the studio, rehearsing for Joker 2, resting, filming Joker 2, handling Haus Labs... and then the strike happened

still think there's a slight chance she will release the footage on a platform and call it a day. for once and unlike JWT or BTW Ball, she did mention her working on the editing and not just filming the show

now what I do hope is that they let go of the idea of a theater release cause let's be real it will tank hard, no one cares about Chromatica in 2023 and even worse in 2024... people stopped caring pretty quick after the first few months

If there are more upcoming jazz shows the least she could do is include some jazz renditions of ARTPOP songs on the setlist. Applausa / MANiCURE / Venus could work.

Gaga had the first half of 2023 to release the footage but she didn't because she just doesn't want to release any concert footage (for some weird reason). She only shared it on instagram to quiet down the liddos so she can move on with her #ads era. 

 

I usually don't complain about this kind of things but...Madonna already having professional footage of her tour post FIRST date is so frustating

It's like all these pop stars are rubbing it in how easy it actually is to do that

 

She only filmed one date and maybe the footgate doesn't meet her quality standard. I get it but it is really that hard to communicate it? A cancellation is always better than waiting for it eternally.

Madonna is more of a professional when it comes to things like these.

Chromatica is more a fan experience I think. A lot of chrome Stans I know irl are older late 30s I think It’s a better album than ARTPOP and Joanne but something about it is really untrendy idk

She would’ve had months to look at the footage. If she bothered to have mentioned it over half a year after it occurred, then I’m sure she’s fine with how it turned out

not all pop girls have a casual/passive approach to their music careers. Madonna worked hard to reach where she is today.

Gags worked really hard for her pop career too (until recently I'd say looking at what is happening) but no one is doing it or has done it like Madonna. That's why she is the OG queen of pop

I do not buy the SAG-AFTRA strike excuse at all. They had from, what, September to July to put the recording together and put it out? And other artists have made it very clear that that is more than enough time. Waiting well over a year to put the footage out is weird anyway - strike or no strike.

Why it wasn’t released April-June I have no idea (I removed Jan-March for JFAD filming). Then October-December of last year… well she could’ve back then too but I’ll just say she was focused on her learning her lines

Yeah. It made some sense initially since it was uncharted territory for her, but Tay Tay and Beyonsay have both put out their concerts with no issues with SAG. Either it's scrapped and they don't have the balls to say it, or there's stuff going on behind the scenes. Maybe it's similar to Beyoncé and they're still trying to find it a home, or are debating on if they should go theatrical or not. 

Ah well, she can't do a single thing before Joker for no reason, and nothing can happen in 2025 so she can avoid over-exposure, so maybe ChromaBall can come out in 2026. And then she can work on an album during 2027, and then LG7 in 2028!
