I was listening to a podcast last night and they were saying the same thing. I think we Gaga fans spend too much time online so we allow stans, who will always use Gaga as a punching bag, to skew our opinions. The public loves her. The industry loves her. She is untouchable and not defined by the metrics stans obsess over, which is exactly why they hate her so much.

Or that Angelina Jolie praises her and said her look in Maleficent was inspired by Lady Gaga. She's obviously referring to Gaga's prosthetics during the born this way era. A lot of people forgot about this moment.

What's crazy is that this + Meryl's BR cover both happened before Gaga's Sound of Music tribute at the Oscars (the Meryl movie technically came out afterward but was filmed before it) yet she already had a good amount of praise and respect from industry heavyweights. Hindsight is always 20/20, but it seems like the potential for her to have a successful transition into dramatic acting was always there.
