Throwback to a early 2022 when Gaga was snubbed from Best Actress at the Oscars. The whole base took the biggest L ever.  The utter shock was so funny. Now that's a gag.

Please don't remind us, however usually precursors matter when it comes to best actress race, Gaga situation was truly a rare exception even compared to previous similar snubs, the whole best actress race has been really weird-unusual last year and of course it had to happen when Gaga was on it.

It was a good humbling experience for many people for sure, but precursors still matter a lot tbh. Gags was just the exception considering she broke records when she missed the nom. 

 

But yeah in hindsight I do believe this is better for her and fans who think she's getting an Oscar nom for every single role she does.

I don't like being pessimistic and you never know with Gaga but I feel that ship has sailed, if she couldn't get a general field win with her massive first 3 years of her career (Poker Face, Bad Romance, TFM, BTW) and then the Shallow/ASIB soundtrack, not to mention last year with the Bennett last album narrative with a weak competition and a win in best engeener album, then it's not happening at this point.

Honestly I don't know what was the sentiment in here, but in other boards-chats I follow, Gaga stans were just chill expecting a nomination after she hit the various precursors, nobody was really demanding a nomination-win out of nowhere, if she would have missed the precursors since the beginning I think everybody would have been pretty chill in not expecting anything since the beginning.

I think Gaga winning NYFCC and hitting all the precursors over the other actresses got into our heads ngl. I definitely thought she was locked for a nom, but almost everyone did including pundits who didn't like her/HOG.   So it's not really anyone's fault for thinking she was gonna get nominated. I just think from now on people will be more careful with their expectations.

Just with the combo of NYFCC + Golden Globe nomination, nobody never missed before

While her record snub was bigger, at least Gaga wasn’t fully alone  Rachel missed and apparently both GG Actress winners (Drama & Comedy/Musical) always get the Oscar nom and she didn’t

In that case it happened before in the 80s that the Globe Comedy winning actress didn't made to Oscars nominations (Bernardette Peters, Kathleen Turner).

 

Ruth Negga was in similar Gaga situation this year (got snubbed with one trifecta win + all precursors nom) but she was in supporting category, so not sure if in that case there were precedents, I'm just sure about leading actress.

her case was more similar to Amy Adams Arrival but the latter definitely hurt more since the film was actually well received and a BP nominee whilst Adams had hit all pre-cursors and probably the worst part about it all was for a min her name was actually listed on the Academy's website nomination morning, only to be swiftly removed  imagine the utter chaos and detrimental meltdowns if that happened w Gar
