Can we assume Doja and Becky G are on their last album with Kemosabe? They are both set to release their 5th albums. I know we have to assume they got the same album deal as Kesha. Its exciting to think that the label could have 0 artists in a few years once Doja and Becky get out of contract.

Yes, I think they must be on their last albums/at the end of their contracts.

 

Kemosabe will probably get dissolved after both release their next album, me thinks.

I don't know the specifics of their contracts, but it'd really surprise me if they had a larger recording commitment than Kesha did since Kesha's contract already got amended from six to five albums in 2009.

 

I doubt anyone new has even signed with Kemosabe within the last 10 years which is why I can't see the label further existing after their two remaining artists have left. The whole label is tainted due to the Dr. Luke background.

currently from what i looked up last night, only Becky G and Doja arw under Kemosabe right now. everyone else left lol

I just listened to Eat the Acid at @Alaska. 's recommendation and wow

 

How have not seen much discourse about this album:skull: it's pretty great. Rick Rubin still has the Midas touch I see, I kind of stopped following her music after Warrior which i enjoyed just not as much as Cannibal or the deconstructed EP.

I always say that one of Kesha's greatest strengths (but sometimes a weakness) is her love for mixing genres and themes. However, Rick Rubin helped her create her most cohesive body of work and advised her not to focus on the commercial performance of the record, which, unfortunately, ended up being her least successful album chart wise.

 

I'd recommend listening to Rainbow if you haven't yet. I think her blend of pop, country and rock flows well on the record. Praying is a career highlight and Spaceship is her best closer.

 

I've also been listening to Resentment quite a lot lately. One of my favorites from High Road and features Brian Wilson and Sturgill Simpson.

I'm revisiting it now and came here to praise it more (stumbled on a video interview she had about it and made me want to listen to it again, forgot how eloquent and soothing her speaking voice is) since it has been a while since I last visited it. A masterpiece, I'd say.

I also realized that "Gag Order" is still searchable on Spotify despite being hidden on her discography.
