Well, we know she’d love to put the album out ASAP, Columbia isn’t letting her. I wonder why the gap between Have Mercy and Treat Me was so long? It feels like it ruined her momentum.

the gap wasn't that long, from a charts perspective. "Have Mercy" peaked on pop radio in the last week of February and she announced "Treat Me" on March 2, gave a month for the snippets to go viral.

 

I think they chose the wrong song as her second single. I'm a "Treat Me" defender and enjoyer, but I think she should have released something less "booty booty booty" bounce and showcase a different sound, like "Surprise" could have, for instance. oh well. I'm still perched for the album.

HM is the worse cover though. 

I’m excited for this release. I voted for this back when she had the poll and was pissed she released Surprise. This is her best single yet and the cover looks amazing and the video is shaping up to look great as well.
