Was never particularly invested in the Sphere concept, but liked it primarily because it meant we were getting a live "something' for the era. It also feels more plausible than a world tour this year.

 

With it seemingly out of the equation, I think we're about to get the Rennie rollout of "album now, tour next year."

 

OR...

 

Album now, visual now, tour next year.

 

Personally think the latter would be best as I think Bey will really be treading a thin line dropping another album unsupported by a "something" else.

 

With Rennie we were all awaiting the visual and tour announcement on a daily basis post-release, with it only dawning on us that our girl was on something else months and months later. Having a heads up on her approach this time, kind of changes things and calls for "more" to sustain the buzz. Especially with a project so left of her norm. 

 

One wildcard option could be a concept similar to what Adele is doing with her Munich run of shows or what Taylor planned with the LoverFest thing (before the panini). Set up a show in one flexible location and have everyone come to her. All for a limited run. Houston maybe for the US, London for Europe, and if she wants to be ambitious someone in Oceana and LATAM.

on one hand I'm sad this is getting a “good but not great" response from critics because I love it and found this record very cathartic and cozy, and easily an improvement from her last album, but on the other hand this means a little less competition for 2025 

Honestly guys, Beyoncé can literally wake up tomorrow and plan a tour and be on the road by July or later, if she really cared or didn't have a back up plan already. It would be more expensive for her and the fans, confusing and haywire, but look at the last 12 years. 

 

Basically, the days of months-years planning a tour, or even just a string of performances, aren't the end all, be all. There's a million ways to work around the sphere without a drawn out world tour of 6-8 months. Remember she has a multitude of stage designs and renderings, costumes and wardrobe, and concepts that are not exclusive to stadiums. I, for one, wish she'd use this opportunity for festival styled concerts in the spring and fall. Especially for albums that based on visual concepts in a film. For someone to trademark "Echoville" in 8 classes, 2 albums deep, alre1dy, with very different visual aesthetics, themes and sounds, from what we can gander, we should be further along in the trilogy and film by now. 

 

Her festival show are always high energy, to the point and give her leeway to play around with her catalog. For an album that seems will lean more to "B'Day", "4" and "LEMONADE", I would love her to be outside, drenched in sweat, jeans and with her band, more so than another RWT. Be not dismayed, she either has a plan set, a backup plan or will be working on a plan. I can see her not doing something for months, AGAIN, but I don't see her doing nothing. If she didn't plan anything else, I think she would've been finalizing another snippet for the visuals by now.

she's getting that yacht prepped and stocked for the summer to make up for how much she worked last year

this was sweet but i think most of us are prepared for the possibility of her not doing anything this summer

I'm expecting visuals TOMORROW. If not then on release week. Period.

The fact that she keeps us all on our toes about her next move with no plausible predictions ever is astonishing

Great album with some stunning songs but sadly a couple of fillers

I'm 50/50 on this, but you raise a lot of good points.

 

Outright, though, I don't think it's that easy to just pick up and tour. Even if she has the stage designs. Routing is a whole thing and, for an act as big as Bey and all the scale and costings that brings with it, the whole venture has to make maximum financial sense to be a go. As in I'd bet she has to do a certain number of shows in a certain number of markets to turn the profit she's used to, which kind of rules out a "limited run". Or a limited run with the type of staging we'd expect/want.

 

It also means she would have actively been in the process of mapping out a new tour while wrapping up the last. Not impossible, but it doesn't seem to align with everything she's said about her headspace/career approach of late.

 

(I'd happily LOVE to be wrong and she announces a huge tour for this year, but we'll see)

 

That said, I love the festival concept and it's something that feels plausible looking at what TS was trying to pull off with LoverFest East/LoverFest West. 

 

Having basically conquered all the major award show and festival platforms and being dedicated to pushing the envelope, I often wonder what her next live "thing" could be outside of doing another Coachella or Glastonbury or whatever. And her own festival not only feels like the best move, it perfectly ties in with vibe of this album.

Its funny how we all know we are getting new info super soon (latest this Friday), but for whatever reason, it always feels 2-3 days too long from one thing to the other - almost to the point where its dragging

 

 

And what exactly are we waiting for? Its not like Bey is going to deliver a crazy cover for the album - its her being on a horse, probably with a Cowboy hat and that sash of Cowboy Carter wrapped around her. Its not going to warrant the "mystique", thats why the waiting game doesnt feel like a good pay-off

It doesn't matter if it's just her in a horse.  It's the only image we will see for weeks starting March 29th, it needs to be good. 

 

I just can't stop thinking how this would have been the perfect cover for the visuals or the compilation of the three acts if all three have horses on the cover. 

 

It's also kind of a reference to Nope, that ties the themes of Aliens and Cowboys, and talks about how the black guy that rides the horse in the “first film ever" went unrecognized. It also references the Be Alive performance in a way with the green screen look of it and the horse at the beginning, and that was the start of the era.
