I get you and I'd typically agree. But I really don't think it matters this time. 

 

Ari has in-built hype, but this isn't her in Thank U Next mode. The album is pretty mature sounding and doesn't play like a stop, look, and listen project.

 

More than anything, for as "popular" as the Ari's and co are, they can't rival Bey's cross-cultural clout. 

 

The Pop lovers are wrapped in Ari's release, but I can tell you for free that Bey's largely Black base probably don't even know it's out. Similarly, even for Bey's broader audience, streaming Ariana won't stop them from rushing to preorder her ish. 

I love spinnint it too because I've learned since the lemonade era that complaining doesn't do anything but damn we are les than 3 weeks to the album release and we know almost nothing about it aside from the fact that it's country and two of the tracks are on very different sides of the spectrum.

Beyond haemorrhaging potential sales because of the lack of preorders, the lack of title is a big issue atm too. 

 

An awareness issue. 

 

Sometimes, we as stans forget that there's a whole GP for whom consuming Beyonce is a more passive, non-committal experience based on headlines they see while scrolling on social media. 

 

With Act I, the literal the project title "Renaissance" was cemented into mass conscience before we got a cover and other details. With this, the "Act II" title is what's getting mass coverage, only to switch up when she finally spills what it's actually called. She's left so much time for the placeholder title to marinate and will want/need the world to move when she reveals the "real" title. 

 

I'm being nitpicky and it's not the end of the world, but it's yet more that's annoyingly ...unnecessary.

It would make no sense for a project initially announced as act i: renaissance to also be act ii: renaissance

It's just common sense

It's not out of the question, but it'd be pretty lacklustre on her part. 

 

I'm super into marketing and, in being super into Bey too, I like assessing her antics without my stan hat on and from more of a general marketing lens. 

 

Sequels rarely do better than originals and, in music terms, "part 2's" create confusion for the GP. Is it a deluxe? A re-release? A whole new album? The relative failure of Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience Part 2 being the best example.

 

None of those confusions exist if the new album has isn't own name.

Well, the website was down a couple of days before Renaissance was announced so the pre-orders is probably coming in matter of days, hopefully.

It doesn't matter. When she announced the title, news will use the official title and Act II will be forgotten in minutes. 

She’ll break the internet anytime she announces but I wanted it to be done during business hours

I love how versatile and how she always taking the risk when it comes to lead single;  Crazy In Love vs If I Were A Boy vs Run The World vs Formation vs Break My Soul vs Texas. She has tried Pop,Ballad, Trap,Bounce, house and now Country as lead single. Run The World may have been underwhelming but it eventually became a classic. In some cases, like Drunk In Love or Formation, it is considered a relatively new and never heard before genre.

It’s definitely coming today so no meltdowns are necessary
