The idea of 'PARKWOOD+' is not a bad idea, but for it to soley cater to Beyonce would be dumb as hell. . .and something she working on as a retirement sets in 🤣💀🤣. 

 

If she was better at running the label aspect of PK, an app could house many artist exclusive video & BTS footage, autographed gear and merch, exclusive only merch, first round ticket sales, more exclusive "RENAISSANCE" listening parties like they did after the release. If she was to create an app only for her legacy, she would basically be selling tickets to her PK vault. Hype wouldn't last long tho and, to be honest, Beyonce would charge $25 a month 🤣‼️ Way too repetitive to profit off of for long than 6 months- 1 year. 

 

I know it's a dumb ass joke, but they may have did a lil something here. I could see Bey being more successful with a targeted streaming service than a general everyday service like Tidal with Jay. 

The fact that we have to scramble for the visuals.

Actually B'day did close to 1M before, around 900K when Beautiful Liar went viral. Lemonade had two songs going viral and still hasn't crossed 800K

- Halle still has the wide theatrical release of that film featuring one of the final performances of Euphoria's Angus Cloud (The Line ), as well as more original music she worked on with RAYE.

 

- It looks like Chlöe brought in enough from her loosies and debut album for a second solo album to be commissioned by Columbia. It was completed and turned in late last year. She also has 4 movie projects in production (a thriller completed years ago, a musical, a biopic, and an animated film).

 

I would predict early 2025 for their third Chloe x Halle album, but you never know how fruitful a random two-week session could be with artists who receive beats all the time and write/produce for themselves.

I may be late to this dicussion but I've been listen to Yes, and? a lot lately (it took me a while to get into like BMS did too ngl). However, i think it's undeniable the BMS influence on this. The house + the positive message. I know it may have been done before BMS but tell me when recently?? She went to that concert and TOOK NOTES

I know everyone has their opinions on him but he did make some points with his Break My Soul comparisons

Ariana's song was most definitely conceived in a post-RENAISSANCE world. Miss gurl hadn't even begun to write anything for her album in May 2022. A few months ago, in October 2023, when a fan asked her the title of her new album, she replied with "let me make it first." 

 

plus, the news of her and SpongeBob having an extramarital affair only broke last summer, while the RWT was happening. "yes, and?" is a response to the backlash she received.

 

the song is a bop though. I love playing it back to back with BMS. Ari and Bey are my top 2 played artists on last.fm and I love having them back whenever they drop music.

Just my opinion- not to take anything away from you alls opinion. I get the comparison and respect your opinion- but the song can't be compared to "Break My Soul", to me. Not even the remix, that leans more into the sound of this song. 

 

For me, for a comeback, the song is pretty bland and something you'd expect for a 90's House throwback. Her vocals are cute, but uneventful. The song, itself, is just another one of her songs that seem predictable. The Madonna vibe holds up, pretty good tho. 

 

"Break My Soul" is beyond a just a house beat. The instrumental and interpolation are simple, but effective. Something so small as holding the snare until the pre-chorus builds by the time you get to the the chorus. How she plays with the percussion and vocals, without overdoing it so the lyrical content is not overshadowed- chef kiss. The two don't compare, just in my opinion, because one is House/Bounce/Anthemic. Though the same could be said about "Yes, And?", it's runs stale.

I see your point but I think I should acknowledge I'm not comparing the quality of either songs together. I personally think Break My Soul in incomparable to yes, and? - I'm just simply pointing out the obviously inspiration Ariana had from BMS; not saying either is better in my original post (even though I do have my opinion which is also why i am in this thread and not another 💀)

Just going back to this, I wish it got a little more wide-spread attention but like most of the moments where she displays her musical talent it went over look. Even if she did know Tia was gonna be there before (which I kinda doubt) the way she put that little section of their song into the performance honestly blows my mind

Break My Soul is still one of my favorites from Renaissance.

 

I am so in love with it.
