You can’t compare the middle class and poor individuals in this thread to billionaire . Like hello, some of y’all are living paycheck to paycheck meanwhile Bey could never sell another album, jacket, or concert ticket and remain rich for the rest of her life and have tons of wealth to hand down for generations. The hard truth is that she doesn’t need this money, she doesn’t require it to maintain her standard of living, she’s isn’t going to lose her house, her kids aren’t gonna have to go on food stamps. Now that’s not to say she won’t put the money to “good” use (funding artistic projects, perhaps down the road some kind of charity project) but it’s still anti gay money.

First of all, I didn’t say these issues were identical. But are you denying that capitalism and commercialism is still at the root of Beyoncé being in a position to land a $24 million payday?  That was my point.  And much like this argument, there are a myriad of issues you can unpack that directly impact the conditions of human life.  Especially at the farming & labor level.

 

Of course we can survive in a capitalistic state.  But it doesn’t make it any less ethical.
