What does this change tho? Rabid fans will still ask the album to be added so

Edited by Hitchhiker

So this basically means , you have to add the album to ur cart for a ticket bundle to count .

Beforehand when u bought tickets u automatically get an album and ur basically buying bundles . And some locals I’m sure weren’t aware of that. This won’t make that much of a difference but maybe a slight

fans yes, but average concert goers most likely won't.

I think the idea is that legacy acts will not be able to rely on their catalogs to sell their new albums. we should see less Kenny Chesney/Madonna sized drops in week 2.

That’s good but it was nice to see old acts get a #1  honestly

Won't change much but I kinda like this idea. Are they doing this for merch bundles also?

They should just stop counting them. What will they do about artists that use them and cancel their tours?

Basically kpop acts are about to debut a lot higher then

Hmm I wonder will they count if the album is free to add to your order?

If this is the case, I actually think this could result in more tour bundle sales. It’s a lot easier to check a box to count as a sale than buy your concert tickets and then use a code emailed to you to download the album imo. One click versus 4-5 clicks for an album you can just stream anyway.

If “free” bundled albums don’t count then it’s over for our girls :rip: Like expect potentially non Top 40 entries for Madonna, Mariah etc.

Also, will an "opt-in" bundle increase the ticket cost by say, the price of an album (about $10) or will the ticket price remain the same whether or not the album was added?

kinda late

it's weird, if the album still being 'free', then why it would be optional?

not sure but the way it is set up implies you will be charged at least the minimum price for the album ($3.99+)

Merch bundles rules changed a year ago. You can buy the merch with and without the album ( different prices)

I was thinking the same, because there are no any bundles in buy the album separately :deadbanana4:

so I guess they have to still be 'free'

Yes but as of now weren't bundles like optional to redeem? Like you have to manually choose to redeem the free album you received. Or am I making this up? No one tours here so I wouldn't know tbh lol

Merch is already this way. All stores must have the option for a merch purchase without a bundle.

For example, a shirt being $35.00 with a bundle, but available for $31.50 separately.

It may be harder to find on the store, but legally they have to have the option for the album sale to count. I imagine ticket bundles will go the same way.

Want to purchase the new CD for an extra $3.50? It'll probably be as easy as check-marking a box.

Depends on the artist's audience if it'll dramatically hurt sales, but it'll hinder the sales for everyone regardless.

idk if this will affect charts a lot if the price will stay the same, especially for those artists who have rabid fanbases.
