A bit off topic but why does it take so long for songs to reach their peak in america compared to .... everywhere else? lol

This is a debut hit by an international new artist.

There's plenty of instances of an debut hits by American artists that take way longer to become hits in Europe/Oceania. ("The Box" still climbing in UK/Australia, while it's already 5 weeks #1 in US)

A song will naturally take longer when its someone overseas and they never had success there before. Radio being included also just makes things naturally have a little longer climb in America regardless.

If major artists drop singles they'll usually peak out the gate within the first few weeks in America like everywhere else too.

Radio is still a big part of getting no.1s (its the second most weighted factor after streaming) in the #Hot100

It usually takes a few weeks or even months to build up big radio audiences unless you’re already an established artist or do payola

American DJs are .... reluctant at best to play new songs/artists :toofunny2:

Wheres the History???:toofunny2:

Yeah this isnt history, moreso an achievement/highlight

Apparently the last one was I Will Always Love You in 2012 and it was because of a tragic event....

Genuinely surprised fewer than 5 songs solely written by a woman cracked the Top 5 on Hot 100 in the whole 2010s...

This Dance Monkey song is terrible, solo written or not.

That's one small step for a woman, one giant leap for womankind.

Imagine living on Tones' planet Earth when she achieved this historic landmark.

Every week someone makes "history" on Billboard with something better categorized as a fun fact.
