Why decade end when the decade doesn't end until 2020 ends?

:ace: Boy, it's the 10's. How the hell 2020 could be in the 10's? (You totally messed it up with the century.)

I'm kinda shocked that I don't know 2 or 3 songs from the list only. I thought it would be full with lil rap songs.

well duh, that song and "we found love" were the peak of the pop/edm/electro phenomenon started by bep/gaga/kesha in 2009

it went crescendo between 2009 to 2011 then progressively went down from there

Thank god Dua lipa is bringing dancepop back

ET is the wtf on this list. Should be replaced by Teenage Dream.

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears are the ones that brought pop/electro back. They were literally the bridge between urban and dance/pop with their FS/LS and Blackout albums.

influence of electro is not dance music; it was barely an influence added to their urban productions

britney and tons of other popstars have been doing pop/electro songs throughout the decade if you want to play it that way (just to appeal to the european market)

but none of them tried to go full dance/electro because they knew that it was a genre that didn't work in the US. hell madonna did a whole dance/electro album (Confessions) and it flopped in the US but was a huge smash in europe because eurodance has been a thing for decades

black eyed peas/gaga/kesha not only brought dance/electro music to the forefront of the US market but they also created a mass movement of party people that would usually only exist among the gay community and  young people in big cities. middle america for example would only feed itself on hip-hop, rock and country, while full pop music was unpopular then the multi #1 weeks combo "Just dance"/ "I Gotta Feeling"/ "Tik Tok"  (all songs lyrically about partying) broke that barrier in middle america and pop became popular all over the country. pop/dance songs became more and more agressive, that's when edm invaded the market.

Anyone that seriously thinks Britney or JT brought Electro/Dance to the mainstream doesn’t know sh!t about music ? nsnsksksks I hope y’all are trolling

#2 - Party Rock Anthem

#3 - Shape of You

#4 - Closer

#5 - Girls Like You

#6 - We Found Love

So WFL is officially the BIGGEST song by a lead female this decade.

Interesting...

I was told otherwise by Gaga & Katy's fans.

#85 - What Do You Mean?

#87 - Sucker

#89 - Timber

#90 - Take Me to Church

These songs :clap3:

#2 - Party Rock Anthem

#7 - Old Town Road

#37 - Sexy and I Know It

#80 - Watch Me

#82 - Cheerleader

#88 - Meant to Be

#95 - Panda

I despise these songs but I can understand LMFAO! song s and Old Town Road going that high as they are massive. Didn't know Cheerleader, Panda and Watch Me were that huge! Did Watch Me and Panda even go #1? I really cannot remember them.

Meant to Be as well, especially since it didn't go #1! Its longevity is insane!

#53 - Work

#65 - Cheap Thrills

#66 - Some Nights

#97 - In My Feelings

#99 - Ho Hey

Surprised at these placements, really thought Work would be higher. Some Nights did go #1, right? I'm not sure as this song got eclipsed by We Are Young, but I'm happy though it made the top 100. In My Feelings was huge but I guess it didn't have much longevity. Did Ho Hey go #1? I'm surprised it made the list. Cheap Thrills was thought before to be a very weak #1 but I'm glad it made the list, I think it served longevity.

I was looking for songs like Teenage Dream, Just Give Me a Reason, Set Fire to the Rain, Wrecking Ball, Need You Now, I Knew You Were Trouble, Diamonds, Rude and Starboy, I guess some of these songs just got unlucky and are maybe in the 101-120.

Some Nights Peak at #3 for almost 2 months I think, blocked by Maroon 5 & PSY :skull:

the fact that it went #66 without even go top 2 was impressive! Only 1 place below cheap thrills!!
and the tragic is JGMAR (duet with nate ruess) didnt event go top 100 this decade :rip:

#1 - Uptown Funk

#22 - Just the Way You Are

#30 - That’s What I Like

#45 - Locked out of Heaven
