It's a song about summer and summer is over, not hard to comprehend why it won't serve longevity

How can a number 11 song be an underperformance for an artist that is supposedly over? Make it make sense. 

 

 

Regardless:

 

- The song was hastily planned, as was its rollout

- Nicki isn’t as powerful as she used to be

- The video isn’t out 

- The song isn’t that good

- Summer’s basically over 

This is Megan’s highest charting song to date already. She has never had a smash before this and she’s a new artist, so this is really great for her.

 

Nicki helped the song with name value to get it all the way to #11 (btw, debuting #11 10 years into your career is great for anyone’s standards), but as has been proven many times, at the end of the day name value isn’t enough, and the song will only last if it’s actually good. Which is why anicki 

 

I heard the song out last week and it sounded fire in the club, so I think it could do some things for Megan & Nicki
