Only 1 of 2 songs though... has anyone even released this year

Sales are really dead I-

But OCH told me it was flop

It went #3 on the Hot 100, #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop, Rap, Urban radio and Rhythmic chart and they didn't even promote the song outside of social media.

Good for her! But the fact it’s only 1 of two platinum songs from this year

I mean...what record for having this song certified platinum is she breaking? How many times platinum is Finesse? It was definitely an underperformance compared to their original track together but congrats to them!

Because people don't really like it, or at least like it as much as Finesse, as evident in the streaming/sales numbers...but not the end of the world. Radio only got behind it because of the initial radio deal and name recognition

I think more are eligible but just not certified 

then again most song charting are from 2018.

 

i expect this to eventually go 2x platinum and be the bartier cardi of her era

Well I guess it can’t be too surprising that a top 3 hits hot 100 without a remix and #1 on urban and rhythmic would be considered anything less than a hit. Many would love their faves to have those stats as a lead/without a remix.

 

I’m sure it’ll go double platinum by the fall.

Look at the hot 100 most of those songs are from 2018.

 

please me, an Ariana song and a few rappers with short lived chart time have represented the hot 100.

 

hopefully many new entries come in time for the summer.

 

please me might only make 20 weeks before going recurrent but I have a feeling it will be nominated for a Grammy a couple of times

#3 on Hot 100, 2 months in top 10 and even if it's weaker compared to Finesse, it's still a hit.

It was forced down people's throats on radio, plus the radio, plus just the name recognition of 2 big name artists, which is why it was top 10 so long. We know the public didn't like it as much as Finesse. I never said it wasn't a hit, but let's not pretend the GP loves it either. She can do much better. Anyways, I wasn't coming in here to start anything, just merely responding to your comment about breaking records.
