National callouts used to be a great indicator, very accurate most of the time, but with time (especially in recent years) it's been getting dated and not the ultimate factor. For example, National callouts have been good at predicting the success of "Blinding Lights", "Mood" and "Lonely", but they have failed with songs like "Bang!" and "Be Like That" which have been # 1 in callouts, and although they peaked in the Top 10, they could go much higher. HitPredictor (another radio research service) shows "Levitating" at # 1, while doing better than what national callouts shows, it isn't flying up as this was the only component that matters. Plus, they had "Prisoner" inside their Top 5 while not even cracking Top 20 on the Pop chart. Shazam is a great source, but it does not help to explain Ariana Grande's huge domination of her on Pop radio, since she's charting comparatively low compared to other songs. I have come to the conclusion that obviously not all stations work in the same way, apart from that their demographics vary from city to city. So in the end, it is the hybrid of multiple factors such as: Local surveys, National callouts, HitPredictor, Shazam, iTunes, Spotify, Google searches, social media interaction, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I honestly feel like radio is sabotaging this song (and many others) because Scooter is paying more. It’s the only way to explain it. Especially with Bieber stats in other metrics. "Bang!' freefalling and it looks like the next Top 10 song is between PYRO and ybmf. I have a feeling PYRO is going to have the edge, I believe it's going to do great on callouts.
