So now that Cardi is out of the top 10, is this the first time that the current #1 single falls off the top 10 of iTunes? I mean she has barely touched #1 there and she's expected to top Billboard for at least a month from now...

No. When Lemonade was released there was a point where 9 songs in the top 10 were tracks from Lemonade. The whole top 100 was pretty much all Prince, since he passed a few days before. It took a while for the #1 BB100 song to reach the top 10 again.

A week or so

I saw Mi Gente at #6 and I kinda jumped. I then saw all the Tom Petty songs and realized why.

Also, Work was #12 in sales one week and #13 in sales another week at the end of its #1 run.

It depends. Jackson's lasted for months, but BB didn't change its policy for allowing deceased artists to chart until Houston died in February 2012. Petty will last some into next week, since his passing took place with just three days left in the tracking week. It'll be interested to see if enough A  Rock/M Rock, AAA, HAC, and AC can give Petty enough Gold (recurrent recurrent) airplay to get Free Falling back in the T 50 on Radio Songs, as I assume it'll reach at least #50 on the H 100. Petty has almost the full week to work with in that metric.

EDIT: Albums have longer post-mortem lives than singles.

There's about to be a new update, but 2.2 hours ago Free Falling was #s 1/34/90, for a total of 1.2330.

Damn even with all Tom Petty movement. Perfect is smashing. Its coming

Claping for Dido's song. A little bit of hope that song will stable after her performance.

Oh wow, so Soundscan numbers are out and "Look" didn't return to #1 even with a discount just a month after its release. Very shocked about it. I think its the first song (or among just a few number of songs) that have opened with 300k+ and never topped HDS again. :celestial5:

"Feel It Still" and "Thunder" will comfortably cross the 500k mark this week.

I can't believe Perfect is going to smash while the much superior song Versace on the Floor gets paid dust.

Imagine Perfect becoming a wedding classic over Unconditionally.

It’s so weird how much impact that discount section had.

Discounts do so little for a song now.

Faith in humanity restored. They aren't actually that cheap. It was just the promo

How would you know?

TOL was a flop until it's viral video came out then it exploded.

Strong gut feeling. Its not as instant as Thinking Out Loud ever was. It will be a hit (imo) but not TOL sized one.
