Yes they are, that's why OOTW only debuted at #18 the week Billboard implemented the pre-order rule instead of in the top 10 when it was released as a promo single.

They are. HDD said with pre-orders Ready For It would've sold ~250k. And it debuted with 135k after taking those away.

 

Same happened when OOTW 'only' sold 195k and Welcome to New York 84k.

Okay, I am sorry for passing on bad information. So songs lose sales two ways then -- pre-orders AND CMA -- and NEITHER seem fair. If the song sells, give it credit. As bad as sales are right now, everyone involved should give the songs EVERY sale they earn!

Billboard was preaching the popularity thing when they included unofficial youtube vids then they stopped acknowledging insta grats when it still follows the same principle

Also, if anyone remembers, back in May, ID performed "Believer" at the BBMA's and it saw the biggest surge and peaked at #2 behind "Despacito". Fast forward 4 months later and "Believer" is still top 10  Truly sales monsters

Malibu was cool, breezy with strongly written verses and anthemic chorus. It done the right thing by showing a change of pace from Bangers, which in itself got attention. But the other songs are "bland" and regardless of sound, they feel like album tracks or at least very late singles.She should have just launched the album with Malibu if the rest of the album sounds like this.
