Bieber's career was only at its low point at the end of 2013 and maybe first half of 2014. Believe era was 2012 to beginning of 2013 with Beauty & a Beat and he got three top 10s.  I think he started doing image recovery about a year before Purpose.

Ariana's albums are discounted in the UK and are both currently in the itunes top 10. It leaves a yucky feeling though... taking advantage of this situation to sell albums.

We can also think of it as a way of them letting the fans buy the album at a cheap price....

Anyway it's just my point of view, I find it a bit strange to have discounted albums on itunes at this delicate moment. I'm sure it was the record company decision.

They were discounted to celebrate the year anniversary of Dangerous Woman, not anything to do with the horrific attack.

Despacito is a great song. I'm not sure about the remix since I have yet to hear it but the original is a good.

Chantaje is as good as Despacito. Neither is a standout.

Kind of dumb move to discount "Slow Hands" now. I think it is the same case like with "The Cure" - the song was climbing slowly on iTunes on its own. If they discount it for one week the freefall would be very significant but if they discount it for a long run we'll get to see another "This Town" case. Maybe they are releasing music video so that is why they discount it, who knows.
